Goes beyond what’s required
I left a very important research notebook in the room when I checked out. When I returned home, I had a phone message from them telling me that I had forgotten it. They asked permission to use my credit card for the postage and then mailed it back to me within two days! I was most impressed!

Careful with leaving your credit card ’for incidentals’
Normal practice to leave a credit card despite already having paid for the room. When I checked out they gave me a bill and I asked to confirm that my card wasn’t charged, sure enough, they did charge it. Supposedly they reversed the charges but of course bank transactions that reverse charges always take forever to be credited. Room was dated, didn’t look like the cleaning did anything except make the bed, change the towels and empty the trash. Vaccuming was definitely not done. While the staff was nice, it was definitely aggravating they were not careful enough to avoid charging my card.

Good spot for a short stay
The hotel is in a nice location, close to restaurants, shopping and I-26. I was surprised most about the neat and clean feel of the small motel and the very friendly service. Breakfast in the morning was filling and included hot dishes. Great place to stay for a short 2-3 days.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Make sure that you take a 20 minute drive to Lake Lure where "Dirty Dancing", "Nell", and portions of "Last of the Mohicans" were filmed. Gorgeous spot.
