Great place to visit
The hotel has a great design (for those who appreciate architecture). Two pools and a hot tub for those who dont want to be bothered on the beach. The sunset views of Wolf Island and Deer Island are amazing. The food at the hotel is good and reasonably priced. You cant beat the outdoor seating. I live in the mountains and absolutely loved opening the sliding doors and falling asleep to the waves.
Traveler's tip on dining
Stay in the "Golden Zone". There are plenty of really great restaurants. The seafood is amazing. Los Margaritas seafood platter is a must try.

Wait until the remodel is done...
Ive stayed at several hotels in Mazatlan and this one was on the low end of the scale. Granted, they are in the middle of a large remodel and kept the place immaculate considering that, I felt that the hotels on either side of it, at roughly the same price, we by far the nicer/better values. Staff was helpful and courteous. Beach was perfect.
there is a pair of taco stands/restaurants about a block away from the hotel. The owner of one is Constancio, who cooks, his wife takes the money and his daughters serve. Taxis, pulmonias and truck drivers all stop to eat there. Best value, high quality, pretty cheap and completely authentic. Five can eat for $20. (with cerveza)
