Tiny room!

We requested a single king-size bed, and were given that--but the room was one of the smallest I’ve seen in a hotel in the U.S. There was just one chair--a wood straight-backed chair at the writing desk. The room was also adjacent to the elevator lobby, so we heard rather loud noises at odd times during the night. This room was also fixtured for wheelchair access (e.g., bathroom sink was low and protruded farther out from the wall.

Good enough Hotel

The Biltmore was Excellent location wise. The staff was very nice and welcoming. The beds were very comfortable. It’s a very old hotel, so even if it’s clean, it seems dirty, just to warn you. Also, because it’s so old, the heat is either on or off and you cannot adjust it. So, it may be stuffy. The starbucks downstairs was super convenient.

The valet parking at the hotel (~$25/night) makes things easy and if you don’t know better, use it. However, just one block behind the hotel is the lot where, I think, they park those cars - and it’s only $10 a night.

Room was size of Bed!

What a disappointment! Our room was literally the size of our king size bed! When we slept we had to place our suitcases on the floor as there was no bureau or even chair in the room! Our toiletries had to be kept on the toilet top. It was a good thing we are not plus size people because we would not have been able to fit.... especially in the bathroom! To add insult to injury, the walls were paper thin and we were directly across from the elevators. Once the elevator traffic died down, the party next door started. At 3:00 am I finally called the front desk.By 3:20 am we finally got some sleep. I could tell by the fire escape diagram on the back of the door that our room was literally a 1/4 of the size of some of the other rooms on our floor. Unfortunately, it looked like at least 30% of the rooms on our floor were the same size has our room... we were NOT an isolated corner room. The Biltmore is a beautiful old hotel, in a good location of Providence but the room absolutely ruined our stay there. I should have taken other people’s warnings of poor room sizes more seriously! I would be afraid of staying there again.

If you attempt to park in the Providnce Mall, I would recommend getting directions on how to find he mall parking lot entrance. We circled it twice (at 30 minutes a circle) and ended up never finding the parking entrance, We ended up parking across the the street for $$$.
