excellent location!

Close to old Montreal, Chinatown, downtown activities, direct access to underground Metro restaurants and shops. Definitely a good place to stay if you one to explore the city. Very friendly and helpful staff, the daily bowl of fresh fruits at reception was a nice touch. Certainly a place to go back to.

Would love to go back to this hotel

The staff was great and the location was central to a lot. The room was very comfortable and clean. wireless internet access was also great to have in the room. Subway was right there in the hotel to access.

3 star not 4 star hotel

Hotel was decent, good location easy to get around from there, alot in walking distance. Hotel is rated as 4 stars, it is definately not. It is a solid 3 star hotel. The hotel decor is a bit outdated, the furniture in the room was old with scratches etc. Not so bad that I would never stay here again just be advised its a 3 star not 4 star hotel.

Montreal’s Great Hotel

Hotel breakfasts were fabulous! Fresh fruit bar, any type of eggs, waffles, fresh croissants, cereals, coffee, hot tea, juices. Service was also outstanding. Great location to walk to downtown Montreal and easy access to the subway right in the hotel lobby.

Great location

Hotel was in a great location to get around to anything we needed. The train stop was right under the hotel! And there’s great sightseeing within walking distance.

Great Location

The hotel is perfect for somebody that needs comfort and a clean place. It is not fancy, but it is located close to the main attractions in Montreal. Bad point: They change the sheets every 4 days, but if you ask to, they will attend your needs promptly. Good point: The pool is great.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

There is a restaurant called St Hubert close to the hotel with affordable prices for meal.(Nice to take kids because the food is servedfor them in a little box car.) When you visit the Botanical Garden and the Biodome, ask for a FREE stroller at the reception. (They will charge $50.00 in your credit card, but they will return the money when you return the stroller.

The hotel was quite large, lovely and affordable. It had quite a few ammenities with some little shops available for those who like that! I definitely would go back!

Excelent ubication

Excelent ubication for tourist and business travelers. Near you can find subway, finance district, lots of restaurants, bars, shopping, everything walking.

Not a 4 star / 4 diamond hotel!

This hotel was advertised as 4star-the room & service was not 4 star! We arrived late. No bellboy(ok-we were late), checked in & we took a cart & brought our bags up the stairs(no ramp) & went to the elevator. A man YELLED to us from behind the desk - did we need help with our luggage -(we already did the hard work)-said we could handle it-he told us to bring the cart back! We got to the room-not impressed. The bathroom - from the 70’s (rest of the room too) & as no exhaust fan - the paint was peeling off the door. Drawers where not clean - kept clothes in my luggage & the closet. Had trouble with safety lock on the door. Front desk sent security. We said if it doesn’t work we want another room. He said we would have to wait a long time to get another room. Finally, we were able to figure out if you pulled the door a certain way, we could turn the safety lock. We stayed three nights-cost of parking-$24/night. Morning we were checking out, they put a bill under our door. Bill said we owed $48. Since we arrived well after midnight the first night, we figured maybe they didn’t charge us for first day. When we went to checkout the clerk said we owed $72. When I showed her the bill I got under the door, she said they print those bills a 2am but don’t put charges on until 4am. I suggested they should put the charges on before they put the bills under the door. Again, this was NOT a 4 star hotel. Very disappointed!

A great hotel for everything!

This comfortable, downtown hotel is perfect for great shopping and dining options as well as a variety of museums. In addition, the Jazz Festival sites are easily reached. And it doesn’t hurt that the Marriott sits above the Metro. A definite for me on my next trip to Montreal.

There are so many dining options and things to do downtown and in Old Montreal, that you don’t have to spend a great deal to get wonderful food or have a great time. I do recommend you bring comfortable shoes so you can explore the city on foot. The people were very friendly, laid back and helpful. And while it is not necessary to speak French(everyone I met was bilingual), I did find that being able to speak a few words in French was most appreciated.

Great location - right above Metro. Ask for a high floor. The view is spectacular. First room they gave us was 8th floor...no view...requested a change..loved the 15th floor. Concierge very,very helpful - booked river curise.

Old Montreal was wonderful, felt like we were in Europe. Climbed Mont Royal...a bit steep, but the view was so worth it. The Old Port is not to be missed. Montreal History Center - also a must.

This hotel is a great value, the rates are reasonable, the location is perfect and convenient for exploring the city, the hotel itself is well kept and very nice. I would definately stay again! The service and staff were excellent and more than happy to assist with anything we needed!

The hotel is close (within walking distance) to many of the club/bar areas in town, which made it easy to go out and enjoy the nightlife!

Would LOVE to stay again!

Our room was exceptional, the half moom windows, plus the neat dressing area made it nearly perfect. Each of the staff were helpful, polite, and went the extra measure to make our stay memorable. Plus the location couldn’t have been better, centerly located with easy walks to restaruants, shopping, the bus etc. Hope to go back.

We always take advantage of Gray Line tours. It’s a great way to get an overview of the city your visiting.

This is a great hotel in a great location - just far enough from everything and yet still walking distance as well - easy walk to the Jazz Festival - local bar scene - nightlife scene and much more - will stay here again and often when i come here to visit

First Lass Hotel

My recent stay at the Marriott Chateau Champlain cannot be compared to no other! The hotel itself looks fantastic from the welcome in front to the lobby, stores, restaurant, etc.. Once in your room you feel like you’ve been placed in a presidential suite. The bedding, toiletries and dressing area all well maintained and cleaned impeccably daily. Hotel staff are there to serve your every need and answer questions for you. I will not only recommend this hotel to everyone I know going to Montreal but will only stay there on my future visits.

Very positive experience

Very positive hotel experience in a wonderful city. You simply cannot beat the convenience of the hotel’s being above the Bonaventure Metro. You can’t tell this on maps necessarily, but hotel is close by Metro to Old Montreal and within walking distance to downtown. Hotel’s distinctive appearance easy to spot in centre city. Many conveniences onsite including Starbucks & gift shop/sundries store. I took the Aerobus from the airport and caught a taxi back to airport with utmost ease. Excellent value on Expedia - bravo!

Delightful hotel for a stay in Montreal!

From the moment the bellman at the curb helped us with our luggage from our taxi to our exit two days later, every single employee at the Marriott was friendly and helpful with smiles on their faces. They also forgave our feeble attempts to speak a word or two in French! We wouldn’t hesitate to return to this Marriott. Great location and quiet. Wonderful bar off the main lobby. Everything is first class.

Always a good experience...

This hotel provides a comfortable and clean environment for a stay in Montreal. It is located close to everything downtown. The rooms are a bit small and the hotel is getting a little dated, but overall I stay here enough to know that the hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and professional and the overall value is excellent.

Great location, excellent service

This hotel is beautiful, connected to the Montreal underground with shopping, a great gym with a pool, and excellent customer service from the hotel staff. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the hotel and the location. Excellent place to stay -- I would definitely stay here again.
