Good value
The motel is in one of the decent areas of San Fran. You dont have as many homeless people as in other areas. The owners were very nice. We were assigned a room in the back (away from the street) and did not have any noise problems. Overall good value for the moderate price.

Hotel not what the reveiws state - look elsewhere
I picked this Hotel because the reviews looked good and for free parking. When checking in their was no where to park. The lot is also used by employees next door leaving very few spaces. The night was brisk and the rooms heater did not work. IT was cold and damp. But the worst part to of the stay was 3 cars were broken into - and one being my car. They windows were broken on all 3 cars and the office did not seem to care about our concerns. They did not have a shop vacuum or any thing to pick up the broken glass. All I would ask is better security and a little more sympathy for their guests.
Traveler's tip
Not a very secure parking lot. Three cars were broken into on July 24th 2009. And the office did not seem to care for its guest.

Perfect for us
I had heard mixed reviews about Town House. I was pleased with the service I recieved, had NO problems with either of the managers. On the contrary, they were very helpful and even printed out some tickets for me I had left at home by accident. The walls of the room do let alot of sound through which can be annoying. I had neighbors that kept opening and closing their door at night but other than that, street noise did not bother us and our room was fairly close to the street. We had a room with two beds and the bed closest to the bathroom was rightthere. Like one foot away from the door. So it seemed a little cramped. But well worth the rate we got and free parking... the bus stop to the wharf is three blocks North on Van Ness. If you walked slow like us it would take only 30 minutes to get there, 15 if you walk normally. It is very convenient to shops and restaurants right down the street. Its on the 101, so GG Bridge is 5 minutes down the road. I loved it!!
