Great hotel!

Very nice hotel! Everyone on the staff was really friendly and helpful. It was very clean, and the beds are soooo comfortable! It is right downtown and is walking distance to a lot of places. We will would definitely stay there again. Oh and the warm chocolate cookie we got when we checked in was AWESOME!!

New and Relaxing

Modern rennovation was done in a sophisticated yet relaxing style. Very comfortable and extremely convenient for the downtown area activities.

Great Hotel and Location

The Doubletree hotel was a nice hotel and in a great location. I would highly recommend it as an option. Everything was in walking distance and the renovations made the hotel look new.

Doubletree Downtown Chattanooga

Excellent, excellent! Perfect for a weekend getaway, and right in the middle of all the downtown attractions. Can’t wait to go back. It’s the place we’ll stay any time we visit Chattanooga.

Good choice for downtown Chattanooga

In the heart of downtown Chattanooga, the Doubletree is within easy walking distance of many attractions, such as the aquarium and Childrens Discovery Museum. The hotel was remodeled in 2008, so everything is in good condition. Our room was fairly roomy, had a large flat screen tv, and free internet access. My wife visited the hotel convenience store; and while we expected prices to be high, she still passed on a pint of Ben & Jerries for $8.50!

Wait for them to finish the construction

This hotel looks like it will be great when they finish the renovation, but for now it makes it too inconvenient. Our renovated rooms was great. It had a plasma tv, great shower, and a very comfy bed.

our stay was not exactly what i expected. they were under construction and i thought parking was free. but on the other hand we were in a remodeled room and it was beautiful.

Hotel is very modern, clean, very friendly staff, and convient to tourist attractions.

Considering the renovations

Conisdering the renovations, it was alright. It was messy because of the work. Renovations really should not start at 8am on the week-ends. There were signs warning us about this but really should reconsider the week-end start time. Because of the renovations, you park in the back of the hotel and must walk around the hotel back to the front to get in the hotel, better signage is needed to guide you through this. Our room was smoking and we asked for NS, after walking and lugging our luggage al around the building we didn’t want to change rooms. We wish we had since even after we got home you could still smell smoke that had settled in our stuff. These inconveniences could be easily fixed and make the hotel a better place to stay. The good news!! The staff was great and willing to help. The location was AWESOME, we were going to UTC and wanted to spend time downtown . I will stay there again after the renovations! The price was right!

Chattanooga knows how to do downtown! Great walking and trails that you can take to the Walnut Street Ped.bridge that takes you across the river to a park and an area with cool little quaint shops. Then the aquarium and imax theatre. A great downtown restaurant is the City Cafe, it doesn’t look great but trust me, it’s good! I eat there evertime I am in the downtown area. Large menu, good portions, good prices open 24-7. There is also a free electric shuttle to take you all over town.

under construction

Booked on Expedia not knowing the hotel was under construction . First room had mold all over ther shower area. Moved to only other room available because of convention going on. This room had only half the mold but to make up for not having as much mold as the last room there was a loud creaking noise everytime the elavator was in use and the carpet was as wavy as the sand dunes. At 8:00 A.M. they started work on the floor above us. I couldn’t even hear my wife yelling at me ( so maybe everything wasn’t so bad). After another complaint to the front desk they finally moved us to half way decent room. For the large amount we paid per night we got stuck with some bad memories.

Changing Face of Progress

Went to Chatt on a convention trip. Hotel is in the process of renovation. I stayed in what appears to be a renovated rm, but there were details not well completed in the bathroom. Rust holes in the ceiling, dripping faucet, loose shower head and a smell in the room of dampness. Bed was comfortable. No premium channels. Staff was friendly and courteous. Hotel is changing to another hotel eventually. Location downtown is excellent. Parked under a light for security since the fencing is open, but discovered the lights don’t stay on all night. Pool closed. Didn’t use resturant. Good value compared with others, though would like to see after renovation is complete.

Being Renovated

This hotel was in a great location in the middle of downtown. You would feel safe walking to a restaurant and back to the hotel. Currently it is being renovated; unfortunately none of the rooms were complete for our stay. The rooms as of now are clean but very run down.

During our stay we did the following: we visited the National Military Park at Point Park on Lookout Mountain, we looked around the shops at the Bluff View (ate at Tony’s), we had a dinner cruise on the Southern Belle, and went white water rafting on the Ocoee river with Ocoee Outdoors. All of the activities were fun and I would recommend them.

location, location, location

The Clarion was great, everything was in walking distance. Downtown chattanooga was very accessiable, from here. Ballpark, Imax theater, aquarium, great resturants, and if you dont feel like walking you can get the free shuttle bus that runs thru town. The Clarion was very hospitable from the front desk to the bar/lounge, great service. We came down for a wedding and had a great time! The hotel is under construction, but it did not bother us, You do not walk thru or see anything in shambles.

Not impressed at all

The hotel was run down and old, filled with the smell of cigarettes & did not seem clean.

Under Renovation

The hotel staff was great, but the hotel is under renovation. When finished, I’m sure everything will be fine, but right now it’s not an ideal destination.
