Not Impressed

Motel was not maintained, Non-smoking room reeked of smoke,Motel is getting old and run down,Did not feel safe,Door lock not secure.

Machete Phil and the Dirty Sheets

The night shift desk clerk was very nice. But we did not get the 1 bed, non-smoking room that we requested. We got a 2 bed, smoking, but they did not charge us any extra for the 2 beds. When we got to our hotel room, a man holding a shield machete came and asked us for money and a cold drink when he saw our cooler. He offered to trade his machete. We lovingly dubbed him Machete Phil when he left. The bedsheets were so stained with gosh knows what that we slept on top to all the sheets and brought in a fleece from the car. I would not touch the shower for anything. I wore my slippers into the shower because it was just too dirty to touch. Somehow the water coming out of the faucet smelled like smoke. We did not stay there for the second night and instead opted to drive back to Massachusetts overnight.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

There was a great place across the street from the Greater Columbus Convention Center called North Market that had a wide selection of foods. But they close at 5pm.

I’ll never stay at another Knights Inn again.

The bathroom was trashed! The floor in the whole room was nasty. The pillows were unsanitary. The pillow cases were fine though. I guess that’s what I get for getting the cheapest room.
