on the blue line

The hotel was ok. It was probably fabulous in the 60’s, but needs a little updating. The pool was neat and the hotel was convenient to the blue line. We also took advantage of the free Marriott shuttle. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel restaurant for the price. The front desk gave us wonderful food suggestions, including a great diner we could walk to for breakfast.

learn the train system. but allow plenty of time to travel. I didn’t realize how long it would take to get somewhere because of all the stops.

Hotel for the business traveler. Not a tourist!

Overall, this was a good hotel. However, if you are traveling to Chicago as a tourist, this is not a great place to stay. It is about 10-miles out of downtown and traffic can be terrible. Parking at this hotel was over $20 per day. There are no great restaurants near this hotel. If you are going to Chicago as a tourist, I urge you to stay downtown near Michigan Avenue. Don’t rent a car and take a shuttle or the transit downtown. All of the great Chicago sites, restaurants, and shopping are within walking distance of most major downtown hotels. You can take the L-train to Wrigley or Northwestern!

If you are here a few days, purchase a the city pass from the one of the major tourist sites in Chicago. The pass gives you access to the aquarium, planetarium, museums, and either the Sears Tower or Hancock Tower Observation Decks. Trust me, once you see the individual ticket price for all these sites, the city pass is a bargain.

Not bad

The staff here is great; the whole place could use some updating and since there is a charge for parking, how about more upkeep for the parking lot? If you are driving back and forth on the Kennedy, this hotel is conveniently located for easy access. It is not the best Marriott that we have seen, but it’s better than a lot of other places.

Very far from center!!! Airport stay!!! Best for USMLE CS !

Old hotel but good service! And for USMLE CS students- Cs center ``in the parking of hotel``. Cons -45 min by CTA to downtown. Classical airport hotel.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Berchoff restaurant oldest but not pricey 50$ per couple. Take Architectural tour from archit. society -must do. Willis+Sears- great view!!! Best blues- Blue on Clark - Willson band!

Great for USMLE Step 2 CS

This is a great place to stay for USMLE Step 2 CS if you are flying to Chicago. The exam is held in a building literally across the parking lot, and Gino’s East is across the parking lot in the opposite direction. There is a shuttle from O’Hare (follow arrows to Bus/Shuttle area) and a locked room for your bag during the exam. And the room itself is great! Just remember to BYO breakfast.

Traveler's tip on dining

Gino’s East for excellent Chicago-style pizza--to the left and left again as you walk out of the hotel.

Pretty good stay

The Parking was 30 a night but the Velet Guys were the best. They offered and printed out maps for our destinations, one even offered to help clean out my car! The hotel is older than some but the condition of the rooms were still ver comfortable. The food in the bar downstairs was very good I had bar b Q Pizza and it was the best I ever had. The store did not stay open very late but over all for the price that I paid I really got my money worth. And the staff cleaned my room everyday without asking. It felt good to open the door from being out all day and the bed to be made with freash towels.

Next time I’m in Chicago, I know where to stay

I rather enjoyed my stay in the Chicago OHare Mariott hotel, not to be confused with the suites.

Traveler's tip on dining

The dining right inside the hotel was very reasonably priced and the quality was good.

Great for USMLE CS

Desk staff was very friendly. Able to print boarding pass quickly and make it to the airport on the free shuttle in time for an earlier stand-by flight. This is a fabulous hotel to stay at for USMLE Step 2 CS test takers as there is a free shuttle from O’Hare and the test center is next door.

Great Ending to a Bad Day!

After having a 5 hour delay in Peoria and missing my connecting flight back to Tampa, it was wonderful to be able to relax. The accomodations were clean and comfortable.

Disappointed

After staying in Marriott in Al, and SC this Hotel did not live up to high quality that that I was use to. That said Restaurant was nice, workout room clean and very well maintained and the Hotel was convenient to the airport and was easy to get downtown. My only quarm was with with housekeeping and room matainance. Room was not cleaned one day, Coffee pot not cleaned one, Floor lamp had short, room service staied in halls for 3 days

Very good place to stay close to O’Hare

Great hotel close to O’Hare for business or pleasure. Right off the expressway so convenient to downtown and other metro Chicago points.

Convenient location, good service

The Marriott Chicago O’Hare had very good service and their shuttle service from O’Hare was prompt and swift. No complaints whatsoever with my stay.

Excellent for Business Travelers

The shuttle from hotel to O’Hare runs every half-hour 24/7. Didn;t get to use the pool, but many people were. Room Service was excellent. Door man remembered me & my daily destination from day 1 to day 5. Needed to extend my stay due to a client issue and they honored the expedia rate, which was of course the lowest.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

5 minutes from O’Hare. Short shuttle ride to the Blue Line. 1 block from the Kennedy. The location is excellent for getting in to O’Hare late and out early as well as doing business on the north-side or downtown.

Reliable

This was our second time at this hotel for weekend getaways. Really don’t have anything bad to say about this place. On both occasions, we checked in before noon (in this case, at 8:30 in the morning) and were able to get a room at the time of check-in. The outside of the hotel has a drab, utilitarian appearance but the inside is perfectly fine. Rooms look pretty much like every other Marriott room. The big plus is the price; downside, obviously, is location. The hotel is a short (and safe) walk from the Cumberland station on the blue line, which runs all night. So, if you’re going into the city proper, want to save (at least) 100 dollars per night, and don’t mind an hour train ride at the end of your day, by all means.

Quality hotel, great location and reasonably priced

It was reasonably close to the north side of the city, you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg in parking (parking is free) - safe secure comfortable hotel that’s reasonably priced. I would definitely stay there again

overpriced, nickled and dimed

The hotel is located in ohare area, so it’s good locale if out for business or pleasure in Chi area. Room was a deluxe room. Bed was fairly comfortable, bathroom was small, tub didn’t drain properly, water built up. You could also tell that doorway was old in bathroom, not maintained. Everything extra was a fee, NOTHING, was included. Internet--extra,(who doesn’t offer wireless internet or some sort of internet as part of the room, parking--extra) RIDICULOUS, especially for the price of the room to begin with. Also hotel hassled me on room service rates. room was supposed to come with breakfast, but they never said it was a buffet instead of room service, so when i ordered room service, they tried to get me to pay for it all. bottom line, u can find better maintained hotels for a better price in teh area.

Traveler's tip

C another hotel, that’s better maintained and charges u less, and doesn’t nickel and dime u.

Very satisfied

Don’t let the exterior appearance of this hotel dissuade you. This is a very good hotel. The service staff couldn’t be any more friendly and helpful. They mentioned that they expect a major renovation soon. The service doesn’t need any improvement!!

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Very convenient for fly in business meetings. Shuttle service available from airport. No airport noise heard inside hotel. Many meeting/function rooms.

Convenient Location for Business Travelers

The convenient location and abundance of amenities were the selling points for me. This hotel is 10 minutes from the O’Hare airport, 2 blocks away from a grocery store, and has 3 restaurants and a nice workout facility inside.
