Excellent Hotel! Great Service!

We enjoyed our stay and had a great tasty dinner. Fairly convenient to the Airport. We were told that President Obama stayed there on his recent trip to Mexico. The room was excellent and we had a great View of the surrounding area.

Low Value for Price

Though must people believe that expensive equals quality, this hotel proves it wrong. All amenities are charged "extra", with high prices on meals, room service, parking, internet use, etc. At $20 USD per person per breakfast buffet, the meal was nothing special. I’ve stayed in 4 & 5 star hotels... It sure has the appearance of a 5 star, but if I was going to spend my money, I would look elsewhere.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

The local streets are getting remodeled... consider adding up 10 - 15 minutes for detours & deviations, or ask the concierge for ETA’s on specific locations.

The Only place to stay

The staff was wonderful, for Guadalajara the bed was comfortable, could use some better pillows, and the pool needs some serious renovation. But all in all when I travel to Guadalajara it is the only place I will stay.

Acceptable

Although the Hotel is only a few years old it is starting to show some wear and tear particularly in the room bathrooms. It is conveniently located and comfortable though.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

after seeing the city I would recommend renting a car and visiting some of the small towns on the outskirts of Guadalajara. Each one has its own flavor with a park and church in the middle of town and the locals milling about.

Very nice, yet expensive hotel

This hotel is a very, very nice one, indeed. However, the charges for phone calls are a rip-off. I needed to call MANY people, locally, yet was charged high rates to make the phone calls. A lot of hotels don’t even charge for phone calls at all... especially in Mexico. The Room Service is very fast and friendly, yet if you do not tip you will be treated poorly, adding stress on top of the ridiculous prices. All-in-all, I would not recommend this hotel due to the unnecessary ammenity prices.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Have a cellular phone that is able to be used locally and to call to the States, without being charged a lot. Or, you shall have bought a calling card in the States prior to coming. Know your way around... the hotel taxi is a rip-off.

Good value

Overall rating would be "good." Breeakfast is monotonous but still better than going out.Room service was OK. After the first night, I had to changed the room because the room next door was making too much noise (sexual), very disturbing. The walls between the rooms must be very thin.

Carefull about renting a car at the airport. Alamo gave me a car with a cracked windshield, then a new car with an empty gas tank!

Very good deal!

Recent stay was fabulous! Taxi ride to downtown Guadalajara was just 15 minutes (make sure you don’t pay more than 60 pesos - hotel taxis charge double!). Only complaint was that when I exchanged dollars to pesos, the exchange dude ripped me off! Be careful and count your money carefully! Also, take advantage of the cheap rates offered by their SPA service. It is fabulous!

Pretty Nice

I have been to many types and grades of hotels in Mexico and I can say this one was a great deal for the price. I must say that I was not happy with the fact that I paid to be on the Executive Floor and was told (to find out later it was hyperbole) that the Exec. floor was being remodeled. I was appropriately upgraded to a suite to compensate for not being on the Exec. floor however. Breakfast buffet was good but became redundant after day 4. Staff was great(front desk just OK though). Bed was very comfy and a/c worked well. Gym--not bad but bar area kind of dull. Location is a bit odd, but figured out the bus system rather quickly. Appreciated the free email check station in the lobby! I do recommend this hotel if it is in your price range. I will return.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

If you really want to get the taste of the local flair, go to the San Juan de Dios Mercado in the Centro Historico--great shopping!! And for amazing food, try the Karnes Garibaldi--across from the Plaza de Sol! Baricahi is a fun place to have a mean and see a great show. Visit the jewelry marts too in the centro historico for amazing jewelry shopping from costume jewelry to gold and diamonds--great prices!!!

Convention Hotel

Good updated place to stay if going to Guadalajara on business; nagging charge for Internet usage.

Will stay there again

Extremely well located hotel in a very quiet area of Guadalajara. The valet parking was less than $4 USD. The beds and pillows are great. The staff is very friendly and will try to help out on any request that you might have. The concierge will even give you a map of the city and show you how to get where you want to go. At the room rate that we got this hotel through Expedia and because of the quality of the hotel, it was definetedly one of the best hotel deals that I have ever had.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

If you want to listen to some music and do some dancing at a safe and reasonable place, try the lobby bar of a major chain hotel that is located at the intersection of Ave. Lopez Mateo and Ninos Heroes. Good music, good appetizers and drinks very reasonably priced. If you go there on Friday or Saturday night, you will miss the crowds since it is a business travelers oriented hotel. They will also play music in Inglish on request.

Guadalajara’s Best

It was a great place, right across the street from the Expo/convention center. It is more of a business area but the service was great!! It is a short cab ride to the downtown area.

We visited the Tequila Express which was a gorgeous visit by train to the tequiza zone. It was amazing.

Best hotel in Guadalajara

I have been to other hotels in Guadalajara, This is the best hotel I would recomend to all families . They have all the accomondation you need and close to shoppings and the expo. I have enjoy my stay at the Hilton. The staffs were very polite and friendly. We had the best room in the 20 floor, awesome view and we have no complain . We were very happy with their service . I rate this a 5 stars.....

Welcome luxury.

After 10 days visiting various towns and villages in Mexico and "roughing it", the Hilton was an oasis. It also helped the transition home. The hotel entrance and lobby are open, uncluttered and unpretentious. The restaurant and bar were clean and the food quality was okay. The room was clean and fresh and the beds were comfortable. No hair dryer!

There is an interesting eating establishment called Karne Asada (KA), which is a short cab ride from the hotel. It has one thing on the menu - Carne Asada stew with potatoes and beans. Very fast, very reasonable and very tasty. Good for families or visitors who are in a hurry - parking is also available.

Very impressed

We went to the hotel to celebrate the coming of New Year (2008) and attended a concert in the famous Degollado Theater by Guadalajara Symphony. The hotel was very nice in every aspect. The room service was fast and good even though the price was a bit high. The bed was very comfy and the room was clean. The bathroom soaps and shampoo were "Crabtree" brand, Good.

The taxi ride to the center of the city was a bit far. But the shopping mall (Del Sol?) was nearby and the Starbuck was also in walking distance.
