Newly renovated rooms tastefully decorated
We chose the Westin Crown Center for our weekend trip to KC to see The Tour of Missouri bicycle race because the start and finish line were right in front of the hotel. The rooms were spacious, clean and lovely now that the multi- million dollar renovation is complete. The beds were comfortable and the linens were luxurious. We had 2 rooms - one with a view of the swimming pool (very large pool with lap lane and lots of lounge chairs), and one with a view of downtown(fun to see all the buildings lit up at night). The hotels weekend rate was very reasonable, and we were prepared to pay the parking fee. The only 2 things we thought were a little odd were that the "balconies" are only big enough for one person to stand on, and there did not appear to be a vent in the bathroom. The concierge and desk staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the Starbucks coffee we made in our room. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Union Station and the WWI memorial are only about a block away, and worth visiting.
