Not a great place
Advertised as a "suites" motel but is really just an older holiday inn that has been converted. Highly over rated and over priced. Minimal perks. Coffee maker didnt work. A/C had to settings "hot" or "meat locker". All rooms open to the outside of the building. Beds and furnishings are left overs. We were certainly underwhelmed.

not handicap friendly
Hotel entrance has a lot of steps to climb just to get in. No street level entrance or portaco. After trying to find a place to park in the front had to climb alot of steps with luggage.

Nice big room, long train ride into D.C.
We had a 1 bedroom suite for 5 nights. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. It was nice to have a totally separate living area from the bedroom. We found the staff to be very helpful and polite. On the downside, the pool closes at 8:00 p.m., which meant that after a day of sight seeing and a long train ride home, we never got back in time to swim. Also, if you take the red line into DC, you are at the end of the line and it took anywhere from 30 minutes to 1 hour to get to the Smithsonian stop. If time is not an issue for you, I would recommend this hotel. However, it isnt the most convenient place if the D.C. sights are your destination. We would stay here again because the extra space in the room made up for the lack of convenience. With two teenagers it is just nicer to spread out a little bit.
We found nothing to eat in the "Mall" area after the museums closed. We ate late lunches at the museum cafes, then went home after the museums closed (about 7:30) and ate a late dinner. We found the Air & Space Museum to have the most reasonably priced food court. They had a McDonalds and Boston Market.
