Excellent Service--Tip for all guests
Wonderful hotel with superior service. Location is perfect---away from the touristy areas but close enough to walk to them all if you like. Right on Green Park across from the Palace. There is a dress code in the dining and bar areas requiring jacket and tie. To get to those areas off the main lobby one must go down the center hall of the hotel. The same hall gives access to an elevator for ones room. They post "security" at the entry to this hall from late morning on. If you are not identified as a guest you will be questioned if you are not in jacket and tie. To avoid this when you are using the hall to get to the guest elevator simply drop off your key with the concierge desk next to the door whenever you go out. The "guards" will see you lick it back up and graciously let you through. There are a lot of non-guests who understandably want to take a look inside the hotel--its beautiful. The dress code cuts down on this traffic. For this reason and many others, its a good thing.

Undershoots typical Ritz standards
soooo overpriced. 40$ for a lobster bisque with not a shred of lobster. no bottle opener or ashtray/matches in a room thats a smoking room. Had to buy the notebook electricity adapter from minibar for 40$. service slow and hotel infrastructure ancient. on top of all that-way overpriced. go to asia for value and service...
