Interesting building
We booked the hotel because of its prior incarnation as a train station -- architecture of public areas was interesting. Rooms are typical of hotels although more spacious. Room was clean, bath fine. The only drawback is that sound carries through room walls and we could hear the TV in the next room. Pub food was good. Service friendly.

Cool old train station
Very nice place. Good value for the price. Beautiful stained glass ceiling. Felt a bit deserted as it appeared there were few guests. Great food at the Irish pub across the street.

Great Hotel
The Radison Lackawanna Hotel in Scranton, PA was very comfortable and a very good value. The renovations from a train station to a 1st class hotel were great. The room was very large and the Sleep number bed was a plus. We had never had one of those beds and it was very easy to operate and gave us a great nights sleep. The restaurants were convenient and the food was excellent. We had the buffet breakfast two days and everything was presented nicely and was delicious. We also visited the Wine Bar and had dinner at th Trax bar. Great food and drink. All of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of the train station and conversion to the hotel. We would highly recommend this hotel.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
We visited the Coal Mine Tour and Museum and the Steam Town Train Museum. We should have left more time for the Train Museum. We didn’t get to see the Trolley Museum nor to visit the Steam Town Mall. All of these places were a very short drive from the hotel.
