Never stay their!!!

This hotel was said to be within 5 miles of town square in Manhattan but it was in Queens! Also, there was no AC in the rooms. They did bring me a small fan, also, the neighborhood was grafitti laiden area...was not safe! Also, no water or coffee even in vending machines! The room was filthy and old!

The Fall is beautiful there! Weather is awesome!

It is unfortunate that this guest was displeased with their room but certain aspects of their comments need to be clarified. The Pan American is the one of the only hotels in NYC that provides Free Pickup Service at both NY Airports and is within a 15 minute bus, subway or car ride to midtown. The local area, a middle class neighborhood mix of commercial and residential, is considered one of the safest in NYC and is a short walking distance from 2 large Shopping Malls, dozens of restaurants and public transportation. Over the past 30 days we accommodated close to 1500 new arrivals from Expedia and related travel sites, we regret that their experience was not satisfactory. Water is available from our vending area at all times and early morning coffee is provided free of charge in the Lobby. The Hotel restaurant offers fresh coffee from 7AM until Midnight every day.

You get what you pay for, or maybe not

The best thing about the hotel is the price, that is compared to hotels in NYC. We stayed one night with two kids. The room was roomy and clean, and is located in a fairly nice area of Queens, but the neighborhood felt only moderately safe for my wife and kids. The beds were very hard and the pillows old and flat. The noise level in the room is also kind of loud. Doors shutting down the hall could be heard in the room loudly. The subway is a short distance away, but you have to cross a multilane road to get to to the hotel. There is private parking, but the back security gate was left open the whole time we were there. Overall, the hotel is old and not in the best location, but is cheap for NYC.

Please accept our apologies for any aspects of your stay which did not meet your expectations. Thank you for your high ratings on cleanliness as we do place high priority on housekeeping and maintenance. In reference to your the comments about access to the Subway, please note that there are entrances (and exits) on both sides of the Boulevard. You simply needed to follow the signage for" QB exit Southside" and you would have surfaced on the same side of the street as the hotel, thereby alleviating your concerns by avoiding the need to cross the multilane road. Likewise, please be assured that our parking area is safe and secure--as all rear gates are closed at 6PM, after our final Shuttle Bus Airport run to Laguardia.
