We Love the Place
This was a great opportunity to stay at a hotel or Lodge we wanted to stay at but normally would be outside our price range. Everything was as we anticipated, a relaxing atmosphere, excellent views and great dining, and accomodations. We were also spoiled with a golf cart tour of the famous golf course by the course ranger, with close up views of the ocean and the signature #6 hole on the North Course. We will do this again if we can get this deal.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Instead of taking the 3 mile walk to the ocean around the course, ask the ranger for a cart tour (off season only) but be sure to force him to take a $20 TIP.

Incredible hotel
Our one night stay at The Lodge at Torrey Pines was exceptional. The rooms were beautifully appointed. The views were exquisite with the ocean and golf course in the distance. Room service was delicious and prompt. We were just 1/2 hour from the San Diego airport, but away from the touristy scene. I’ll be sure to stay here the next time I visit San Diego or the environs. Kudos to the hotel and staff!!

My family and I had a wonderful time and good experience at this lodge. The hiking down to the ocean was phenomenal. The lodge was exceptional. The breakfast(s)were great. Room service was great. Our kids loved the pool and underwater speakers. Service at pool was just "ok." Very cool experience as being in a lodge atmosphere on the ocean. Make sure you make your tee time 2 weeks in advance for the golf course(s)or you will have to get up by 5 AM to be down to stand in a line to get play for the day. I did that and I did not get tee time but the North Course was closed that day so that probably influenced me not getting a tee time. I recommend this lodge if you have the money to spend and can enjoy all it has to offer. Enjoy your stay there as my wife, 2 boys-six and eight, enjoyed ours.
Traveler's tip on recreational activities
Hike down to the ocean as you will be glad you did. The concierge will assist you in pointing you in the right direction. If you are disabled, handicapped, injured, make sure you get a room close to the entrance as it is a hike to get to rooms. I was traveling with family who had an injury and was a hike to the rooms.
