Nothing Special
Do not expect anything special. Hotel did not provide lotion, we had to even ask for shower caps. Would have been nice to have a mini-fridge in our room. Cleaning lady came once (on the first day) to clean our room during our 5 night stay. Do not check it with a debit card (as opposed to a credit card) because they might put charges on your card. They charged $249.80 on my debit card but thankfully after many complaints it did not go through.

Great Option in New Orleans
The prior positive reviews for the La Quinta Inn Downtown were right on the mark. The rooms and the common areas were fresh and recently renovated, although the sound-proofing could have been better. The folks at the front desk were friendly without fail and very accommodating. The complimentary breakfast included enough options to ensure that everyone was satisfied. The valet parking was easy, but a little expensive. However the value from very reasonable nightly rate more than offset the additional cost and the overall value was still very good. The reason we could not give a "5" overall was due to the fact that the room air conditioner/heater was not functioning properly. We were there during an unseasonably cool period and setting the heater to 80 (trying to get it to kick in) actually caused the room temperature to go DOWN to 66. Due to the fact we discovered this later in the evening, we chose to pass on a maintenance call and simply asked for a couple more blankets (which were delivered promptly). Aside from the tiny inconvenience of the heater, we would definitely go back and recommend this hotel.

Best kept secret
Although it was just an overnight stay for me, I will DEFINITELY use this hotel again! This was a well kept secret! I was very impressed with the location, quality, and the service of this hotel. I recommend it to all.
