A Very safe Bet in a very convenient location
The Marriott Prague is an American style hotel that caters to business conventions. There is smoking in the lobbies and it is quite noisy in the main areas downstairs. That being said, it is still a safe bet to stay here. the location was extremeley convenient being near Old Town Square, the Municipal House and the metro. The retaurant was ok but very expensive and the lobby bar was pretty but drink prices were totally inflated. Save your money and get a cocktail elsewhere. Nice rooms but no real view to speak of. Nice amenities in the rooms and overall a good solid Marriott.
The Mala Strana area which is right over the Charles Bridge. Loads of lovely bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. all in a beautiful cobblestoned area, just charming! Also have breakfast or lunch (homemade crepes) at the Cubist "Grand Orient Cafe" which is right near the "Municipal House "which is also a must see for its outstanding Art Nouveau architecture.

Great Location For Walking in Prague
This was a very good location for walking tours in Prague. The hotel was lovely with predictable Marriott prettiness. The service staff at the front desk were helpful and patient. A couple minor disappointments: My husband loves steam baths and we reserved the room, in part, because of this (it was cold when we were in Prague). But, it was broken all three days we were there. Also, no coffee maker in the room as in U.S. hotels (something I always appreciate). We would go back, though; the room was spacious, immaculate, and very comfortable. There were three of us and no problem obtaining a rollaway bed.
While I have always liked Marriotts, I would, in retrospect, not hesitate to stay in a well-rated boutique hotel. We did this later in our trip and they were very nice, more European flavor than the familiar chains.

From the moment I arrived at the Prague Marriott I fould service excellent. Several times I needed the services of the young woman at the help desk. On each occasion she was very pleasant, and her information proved accurate and very useful.
