A Very safe Bet in a very convenient location

The Marriott Prague is an American style hotel that caters to business conventions. There is smoking in the lobbies and it is quite noisy in the main areas downstairs. That being said, it is still a safe bet to stay here. the location was extremeley convenient being near Old Town Square, the Municipal House and the metro. The retaurant was ok but very expensive and the lobby bar was pretty but drink prices were totally inflated. Save your money and get a cocktail elsewhere. Nice rooms but no real view to speak of. Nice amenities in the rooms and overall a good solid Marriott.

The Mala Strana area which is right over the Charles Bridge. Loads of lovely bars, restaurants, shopping, etc. all in a beautiful cobblestoned area, just charming! Also have breakfast or lunch (homemade crepes) at the Cubist "Grand Orient Cafe" which is right near the "Municipal House "which is also a must see for it’s outstanding Art Nouveau architecture.

Great Location For Walking in Prague

This was a very good location for walking tours in Prague. The hotel was lovely with predictable Marriott prettiness. The service staff at the front desk were helpful and patient. A couple minor disappointments: My husband loves steam baths and we reserved the room, in part, because of this (it was cold when we were in Prague). But, it was broken all three days we were there. Also, no coffee maker in the room as in U.S. hotels (something I always appreciate). We would go back, though; the room was spacious, immaculate, and very comfortable. There were three of us and no problem obtaining a rollaway bed.

While I have always liked Marriotts, I would, in retrospect, not hesitate to stay in a well-rated boutique hotel. We did this later in our trip and they were very nice, more European flavor than the familiar chains.

From the moment I arrived at the Prague Marriott I fould service excellent. Several times I needed the services of the young woman at the help desk. On each occasion she was very pleasant, and her information proved accurate and very useful.

Very good hotel

Stayed in this hotel for 6 days in September this year. Clean and well maintained hotel. Friendly staff. Comfortable and silent room (base one). Perfect location (a lot of good caffes - 2-5 minutes walk, big shopping center - ’Palladium’ - 5 minutes walk, old city center - 5-10 minutes walk, subway station - 5 minutes walk).

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

I would reccomend a nice caffe with a good and cheap breakfast (5 times cheaper than in hotel!) in 2 minutes walk distance from the hotel (down the street towards the old city).

Great Location, Great Service!

Marriott Prague was everything we were hoping for. The employees were very polite and helpful, and spoke great English. The room was comfortable and quiet. TV had poor selection of channels, and the movies were ridiculously expensive to watch, but there is so much to see in Prague that it didn’t really matter. The location was wonderful--one block from subway, one block from Palladium Mall, and a 10-minute walk to Old Town Square and the train station. We even walked to Prague Castle from our hotel. The trip to/from the airport by taxi was about 500-650 Koruna ($30-$40 USD). I would definitely stay there again!

There are no drinking fountains anywhere, so take bottled water on walks. Also, take 5 and 10 Koruna coins with you, because you always have to pay for the use of public restrooms.

American Friendly Hotel in Prague

We had a wonderful stay at the Marriott Prague and especially appreciated amenities in our room including a 110V outlet that worked with our computer and hairdryer without requiring an adaptor and in room safe. Overall the hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating in meeting our needs.

Breakfast can be a challenge in Prague. American style breakfasts are available in hotels but are pricey.

Excellent Location and Service

Stayed in the Prague Marriott in July 2009 for a long weekend. The hotel’s location is perfect, close to major sites, restaurants, stores, etc. The hotel room and public areas were very nice and staff was professional and friendly. I had a great time!

Traveler's tip on shopping

There’s a supermarket 1 block away

Great location in Prague

The Marriott was a great place to stay in Prague. It’s a 5 minute walk to the Old Town Square. It may not have some of the charm of some of the local hotels but it is extremely comfortable & clean, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

Very Nice Hotel

The Marriott is a very nice hotel in a nice part of town. It is right across form a Hilton and is down the street from the Municipal House and Powder Tower. The rooms are nice and the property is modern. Breakfast at the hotel is extremely expensive so we did not eat at the hotel. We would consider staying here again because it is a nice, modern hotel.

Marriott Hotel Prague

Good hotel to stay in, however remember to ask to include internet use in your room rate if you even think you may need it. If you dont (as I forgot) internet use will be charged at ridiculously high rate.

Very nice hotel

The hotel is very good. The fastest room service I’ve ever seen! Good location, 5 minutes walking from tourist points but not in the crowd. Metro station on the corner. Wonderful bed linens.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

You can visit all Prague on foot but if at night you are tired of walking, take the metro, it’s the easiest subway I’ve ever used. Black Light Theatre is interesting but I’ve seen better theater all over the world. Opera is beautiful, has subtitles in English and less expensive than in Paris. Must visit the Palace and the Cathedral, go in the morning as they close early.

convenient

The hotel was convenient to the major attractions and trains. Next door was a grocery, which made it easy to have soda, fruit, etc., in the room at all times. Everyone on staff was fluent in English. And it was nice having the pool/spa on site. After a long day of sighseeing, I enjoyed going for a swim and steam. I’d stay there again.

Hidden Costs

Charged my wife and I over $90 dollars for the breakfast buffet - rediculous! Typical buffet that either comes with the room in the remainder of Europe or is only minimal charge. $100 to park our car in the hotel parking garage for the weekend. Ask what the charge is before you assume anything at all is included as perks of staying at the Marriot Prague!

Traveler's tip on nightlife

Amazing concerts and ballet opportunities in the City of Prague at reasonable prices.

good location

The hotel is very close to the municipal and theatre (convenient to come back after the night show) but not too busy as it locates at a rim of the old town. There are a supermarket next door and around the underground area. The hotel also locates next to the metro, bus/tram stop and airport tranfer ’cedas’ bus stop. Although the cedas counter at the airport didn’t inform us and took advantage by charging us as a group rate to the hotel, the hotel concierge is sincere enough to tell us that it is no need for us to call for a cedas hotel pick-up and be overcharged because the cedas bus stop is just cross the street. A hotel room is quite new and big enough for 4 persons (two twin-beds)although the bed is a bit too soft. The Chegue restaurant nearby that the hotel recommended is quite nice.

Loved it

Walking distance to almost everything and the food was better than most of the restaurants we tried. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.
