Park Royal Ixtapa
We arrived at 11 am and we understood that our room wouldnt be ready until 3 pm, but even then we had to wait for an hour in the lobby, and when they saw that we were not poor americans they changed our room on the 16th floor to the 19th. Everything in the room was extremely old, specially the bathroom it was clean but extremely old. I just felt discussted so I talked to the manager and they gave us antoher room on the 17th floor. Let me tell you, it was completely different. You could tell it had been remodel and updated. Breakfast and lunch was great! But dinner was not good at all, there are two restaurants but one (italian) no children were allowed and it was semi formal. The man had to wear long pants and my son did not bring any. The other restaurant was always pack, the wait was too long. I do not recommend this hotel if you are single, this is a family or couples hotel.

Family Hotel
Nice hotel, usual time share hassels. Seems most of the guests were families getting their short stay if they listened to the pitch, lots of kids which means noise and crowding at the pool. Not much to do at night. Their attempt at entertainment for adults was loud and I mean loud DJ. We were on the ninth floor and could hear the music into the wee hours of the morning. Food was what one would expect for an all-inclusive, so-so.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
The partner that works with expedia offered excursions and such that could be had for less, but I guess one should expect that for the convinence. An example was the trip to Ixtapa Island would have cost so much more that just going on your own and there would have been no difference. Dont be afraid to ride the bus. Would not book the transportation to and from airport as taking a taxi would be just about the same price and you would not be sharing a ride with strangers.

Nice but short of activities for teens
Is a nice hotel but it would be better to have some sort of night activities for teenagers. They are the ones ready to party after pool and beach hours, but the hotel does not offer much to do for them.
Traveler's tip on dining
Do not forget your formal attire if you want dine at Italianos. These people are really picky at that.
