DONT CHECK IN EARLY.
I was very surprised that we were charged $10.00 to check in 55 minutes early. I have never been charged in the 29 years I have been traveling for an early check in. Ten dollars is not a lot of money however the room was ready, they didnt have to do anything special to check us in and we were less than hour early. Other family members that stayed in other low budget hotels checked in as early as 9:30 AM with no extra charges. I guess with the recession they need the extra money. The rug in the room was not vacuumed and the bathroom had not been mopped or bathtub cleaned. It looked like they only changed the bed. I was very pleased my sister moved us to the Marriott.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
If you are short on funds then you will be able to make it there for a night or two at the most. If you are staying for a week this is not the hotel for you. Cleanliness is not one of the hotels first priorities. The people working the front desk were all very nice and tried to accommodate the best they could.

Worth for the price - Breakfast sucks
I booked Microtel because I had previously stayed in one close to Niagara. The hotel is neat and clean which is my primary concern. The only thing that was a con was the breakfast. The breads got exhausted by 8.15 am. The breakfast timing is till 9 am.

Not too bad, but things were broken
The bathroom sink was cracked down the middle and it was hanging off the wall. It didnt move much when we touched it, but it was unsightly with the glue being a different color than the sink itself. There werent any wash cloths in our room, and when I asked for them, they never arrived. Also, we had three people in our room but we were only given two towels. The room smelled kind of funny, and the neighbors kept us up most of the night. Other than that, the front desk person was nice!
