Met Expectations

We were looking for an inexpensive hotel near the Myrtle Beach Airport for one night. It was clean, reasonably priced and pleasant. I wouldn’t want to stay for any length of time there, however.

Red Roof in MB

Nice hotel, easy walking distance to beach in a quiet area. Contential breakfast ok. Not bad for the economic traveler on a budget. Belgian waffles a nice touch. Looking to stay here next year.

Would not hesitate to return to this hotel

After reading a few reviews, initially had some doubt, but chose this hotel anyway. Upon arrival, the desk clerk was great, the room was great, clerk was helpful and friendly, pool was very clean and well maintained. My only problem was the hall had some papers on the floor, but this was minor. The continental breakfast was 7 out of 10. It was a quick walk to the beach, two short blocks. The area was clean and well maintained. I would not hesitate returning to this hotel.

rooms were clean. beds were comfortable. that’s what counts the most!

pets are allowed to stay at this hotel. we were pleased that we couldn’t hear them! hotel was booked due to holiday weekend. noise was minimal in rooms. overall, we enjoyed our two night stay.

GREAT STAY

GREAT STAY AND GREAT PRICE! HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND VERY ACCESSIBLE TO ATTRACTIONS, BEACH, RESTUARANTS. NICE ROOMS. PETS ARE ALLOWED. WOULD STAY AGAIN.

You get what you pay for.

If you don’t need a lot of ammenities this place is OK. The room was clean and the staff was friendly.

Great place, Nice people

Very nice place for the $, centrally located and would refer anyone with a pet, large grounds for them to explore and close to the beach.

Worth It

Our hotel selection was minimal at best since we were bringing our 12 week old lab puppy with us. Red Roof Inn was the only one(from the ones that were available that week) that let your pets stay for free. We also wanted to be close to the beach but the beach front hotels were very expensive. Red Roof Inn met all our requirements We were not expecting much given that the hotel does accept pets but the room was very clean and their was no "pet" smell that you get in some of the pet friendly hotels. Our only problem was the refrigerator did not want to stay cold but we plugged it in to another socket and it started working and the staff was very accomodating. They said they would move us to another room if the fridge didn’t start working and until then they let us keep our stuff in the breakfast fridge. Our overall experience at this hotel was great and I would definitely go there again. The hotel is not on the beach but it’s only 2 blocks away from it. Gives you some time to dry off and loose some sand on the way back!

Not impressed whatsoever!

The room was filthy. One of the comforters had a HUGE blood stain on it and it took them 2 days to remove it. I had to write a note and leave it for them to get rid of it. The bathroom was small and had a very unpleasant smell. The continental breakfast consisted of Sara Lee cakes, coffee & juice. Will never go there again!

What a DEAL

Just got back from a stay at Red Roof Inn. I was a little worried to what the hotel may look like since we were getting such a deal but upon arrival I was in for a surprise. Their lobby was extremly clean & had the looks that it had been recently redone & updated. The front desk employees & all the employess there were VERY friendly & would answer any questions you had or help you find somewhere to go visit during your stay. Our room was a regular hotel room, but was very clean aside of some spots in the corner of the carpet, possibly where the vacuum didn’t reach, but I was in awe to it especially after I noticed they had already turned down a bed for us. We never visited the pool although it was right there on the hotel grounds, but when you can walk 2blocks to the beach, which way would you go. Yes, the beach is actually in a 2block walking distance, you can see it when you pull in to park. Also across the side street there is a puttputt course that is open late w/2courses. It does cost more than most courses but on the other hand you don’t have to drive & waste your gas. Only thing I didn’t enjoy that much was their continental brkfast only choices you had were diff flavored muffins that had 16-25grams of fat per muffin. They do offer OJ & Apple juice during brkfast along w/coffe/hot choc/tea & some other flavored coffess but those are also avail all day long. I will definatly go back to this hotel & not think twice about telling friends/family about staying here.

There are better places to stay

toilet stool too low pillows too soft mattress too hard and lumpy dirt on sheets not enough towels and wash cloths price was reasonable

Not impressed, but wasn’t expecting to be.

This was strictly a layover hotel in order to be close to the airport for a very early morning flight. So, it served it’s purpose. But room was undesirable, carpet stained, room decor antiquated and worn, hotel corridor LOUD. Other rooms offer, all the same! Not really close to Myrtle beach immediate area either, so you must drive, not walk.

Not impressed

I received a non-smoking room, however, my comforter smelled like an ash tray and the entire room smelled like a wet dog. On a good note..the staff was very friendly and professional and overall the hotel was clean.

Decent Option

We chose this hotel b/c we were driving in late into MB. The room was standard - no frills, but nice and worked for exactly what we needed. THe pool looked nice and it wasn’t too far a walk to the ocean. Bad things: the AC unit sounded like a freight train! We tried just using the fan (no noise), but it was July in MB...so AC was needed. Luckily we are heavy sleepers, but it had to have woken the neighbors when we turned it on :)

ok place to stay

the hotel staff was nice, but not very promt in fixing a very gross issue we had with our room. there was a couple of dogs next door that kept barking, but that guest was moved due to many complaints by many guests. I would not take my children there, but for two adults to have a place to shower and sleep it was just fine. It was only a two block walk to the beach, and located centrally to may attractions.

At the welcome centers they offer discount tickets to many attractions, but beware, to get those big discounts, you have to sit through a time share presentation. It wasnt horrible, but it did help us see a couple of shows for about $100 less than ticket price!

Adequate for price and closeness to beach

Not the best hotel I’ve stayed in but good enough and affordable compared to other places on the beach. 5 minute walk to the beach and its in a good area. Room was clean, bathroom could have been cleaner.

Would definitely stay again

We were very pleased with the service from the front desk personnel to the cleaning staff. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The hotel was very clean and the grounds were very well kept. The hotel was in a very quiet location. Not a lot of noise from traffic, etc. The beach was in walking distance which was very nice. This hotel was a pet-friendly hotel which meant there were several dogs. We love pets, but the only problem was sometimes the dogs would get pretty loud with the barking. We didn’t hear it at night though. I think the animals only barked when there was no one in the room with them. We would definitly stay here again. It was a very good bargain.

We found several local attractions and they were all great entertainment. We would definitely recommend the Dixie Stampede, Good Vibrations, and especially Le Grand Cirque.

A Nice Place to stay

It was a very nice place to stay. The only problem I had was getting bath towels for my room, but other than that it was enjoyable. Next time I might bring my pet; very pet friendly. It was close to alot of attractions. I really enjoyed it.

Great for travelers with pets

This hotel was very nicely priced. They do not charge for you to keep your dog with you. The housekeeping staff is very friendly. Our dog enjoyed the beach. It is located close to many attractions and it is away from the riff raff.

GREAT PEACEFUL PLACE TO STAY! 5 MIN. WALK TO BEACH!

We loved our stay at this Red Roof Inn! They do not charge a fee for you to bring your dog, which is really unusual. The hotel is in a really nice, quiet area of South Myrtle Beach near Springmaid beach. You can walk out of the parking lot and see the beach and ocean just one block down. Best of all, the employees were unbelievably kind and courteous, a rarity nowadays! The hotel was clean and well kept. There are several elevators. The grounds are nice and well kept. Plenty of parking. We had a king business room, which was large with a frig and microwave. The price we got through Expedia was awesome for such a nice room. Fun thing to do.....the huge Springmaid beach Pier is a few blocks away. They rent fishing poles and sell bait. No fishing license required! They also have a snack bar right there for burgers, fries and such. We fished 3 days straight! So much fun! By the way....Coffee, cappuccino, tea, hot cocoa, ect. are served 24 hours at this hotel in the lobby...good too! Nice outdoor pool for summer. Red Roof Inn was a perfect place to stay. We will definitely go back to stay!
