Plaza is not Ramada
Hotel appears to be recently reopened and it smelled of this old condition. The rate should have been cheaper. Only one elevator and all the furnishings are outdated and dimmed. The TV is Satellite with few channels to select..nothing local available to watch. It was like staying in a condemned mansion where you have access to a couple floors. I will not stay here again.

The Plaza Hotel is clearly on a death spiral
The friendly demeanor of front-desk hotel staff could not mask the poorly maintained condition of the hotel--or the fact that despite the decent geographic location, the hotel was nearly devoid of guests. It appears as though the hotel lost its Ramada license, as the sign indicating "Ramada Plaza Hotel" was covered over with a tarp. Now known only as the "Plaza Hotel," most traces of the former Ramada are gone. I was shocked to find the poor condition of the hotel: the toilet required multiple attempts to flush each time; the toilet seat was broken; the light fixtures were loose and one didnt work; one of the two elevators was broken when we arrived and still didnt work a full week later; the working elevator had broken and loose tiles on its floor and several graffiti marks on the walls; the carpets were dirty; some debris on the floor in the hallway was still there after a week... and the list goes on. Eerily, the exercise room and pool area looked like they had been abandoned for some time, like shadows from a former era. If this hotel had a heyday, it certainly existed long ago. This is a hotel in the midst of decay and well down the path of its death spiral. Please do yourselves a favor and look elsewhere if youre staying in Houston.

It was terrible
No one was there and it doesnt surprise me. It was absolutely horrible. Almost scary.
