Good hotel, comfortable stay

The Hilton Northbrook gave me an extremely clean hotel room, and room service and the food delivered were both excellent. I was surprised to not have alcohol in the room, but there were many children staying at the hotel at the time and I can understand the lack of alcohol in rooms. I will stay in this hotel again. The taxi service called to deliver me to the airport was very good and attentive, also.

Time of my life!

I was able to upgrade to a wonderful room with a view of the forest for miles... no buildings in the way. The room was large, very clean and had a very nice layout- vanity area outside the bathroom which was separated from the bedroom/seating area by a long wall. The room had a nice little bar area with a hidden refrigerator. The bathroom had a wonderful Jr. Jacuzzi tub and a very nice glass surrounded separate shower. Everything looked clean and new! Room service was great! Can’t wait to go back in June!

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Room was equipped with a nice large desk with internet connectivity. There were plenty of lights and outlets in the room. Take a break and drive across the street to a secluded park. There is construction on the main road so everyone skips the park...

Will Stay again, when in Chicago

This hotel was great! They let us check in early and the room was very nice and comfortable. Also, the shuttle service made this hotel really stand out. They were able to pick us up and drop us off at the train station whenever we needed, made it a very convient hotel to stay at.

Very impressed. One of the best values I’ve had in a long time.

Not impressed for a Hilton

We expected so much more than we received from this hotel. It was very far away from everything, which we didn’t expect. Road construction made the hotel almost impossible to get to. There was MOLD growing in the grout in our shower, definetly not expected in a Hilton!

Will stay there again whenever I am in the area!

Lovely hotel. Clean, comfortable. Bedding was very nice. Fantastic breakfast buffet - best I have had in a long time. reasonable rates.

The staff at the front desk made us welcome and very friendly. Each staff member we met, be the doorman, maid, waitstaff anyone we met even just walking the hallway said hi with a smile. We travel often and having people care where they work is vey unusal. Keep up the service and quality. Thank you’.

Nice Hotel, but Not Impressed for the Money

We have been to Chicago many times and normally stay outside the city to avoid all the $40 a day parking charges just to park at the hotels. We tried this hotel as we were going to try city transportation rather than driving in the city this time. The hotel was helpful with directions and suggestions, but seemed to nickel and dime us for everything. They had mini bars in the room, so it seemed vending machines (sodas only) were always out. We asked about internet at the hotel and there was a pretty pricy charge for that. We needed an ATM and it was broke so we had to go to a different hotel for that feature. We had ordered pizza to be delivered to our room and not only incurred a local phone charge for that call, but requested plates from the hotel and those were brought to our room about a half hour or more after we had went down to the front desk. There was a complimentary shuttle to the train to go downtown, however, we had to pay cab fare to return back to the hotel. For a Hilton, I just wasn’t that impressed with the service. We’ve stayed at a lot of less expensive hotels and have received many of the same or better amenities for less. When I go back, it will probably be to a hotel that I’ve stayed at previously. Even though this hotel was nice, the location and service left a lot to be desired.

For weekend travelers, it’s much better to plan on driving into the city and parking at a garage or lot all day and taking transportation around Chicago. It’s very easy to use and will save you much more time than trying to rely on train schedules to get you there and back.
