Great stay!

This hotel was a great choice for my family. We stayed one night and were very impressed by the courteous and respectful nature of the staff. Our room was neat and clean. The surrounding area was safe. Gas stations, fast food restaurants, and a Cracker Barrel restaurant are all located within walking distance. The hotel is conveniently located off of I-49 as well as LA-1 on the north side of Alexandria which was very convenient and free from traff. Overall, our stay was great and I would recommend this hotel to any travelers.

Won’t go back

The pictures always look nice but it was not how the room was. The carpet had a few stains on it around the sink area. There was a plastic cup up on the shelf where you can hang your clothes. A dead bug in the corner. I suppose if I saw it then the cleaning crew should have been able to see it. And to end it all and make me want to do this posting was finding someone’s fingernail on the tray where the coffee maker and cups are. My recommendation, spend a few dollars more and find a better hotel.

Nice hotel

The lady who checked us in was very nice. The continental breakfast was minimal. There was no butter or jelly for the toast and when I mentioned it to the manager (who was at the reception desk), he acted as if he didn’t even hear me. Unfriendly fellow.

RIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY. EASY ACCESS TO GET BACK ON AND GO INTO ALEXANDRIA. VERY QUIET, EVENTHOUGH THERE WERE ALOT OF PEOPLE FROM OUT OF TOWN GOING TO THE MUD A THON.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

SO FAR OUT OF THREE TRIPS TO ALEXANDRIA. THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST PRICE FOR A ROOM. I WILL NOT STAY ON MAC ARTHUR DRIVE UNLESS THIS HOTEL IS BOOKED SOLID. THANKS TO THE STAFF, VERY HOSPITABLE.

Pretty old but did the job

Room was pretty old; table legs not even glued on or nailed to it. The sofa it came with, I would not sit in.

Nice Place To Stay

The Super 8 Hotel was a pleasant and clean. The only draw back was the late night passing of an occasional freight train. The location was just off the main and local highway. It was also located in a fast food area and close to the airport. All in all a pleasant experience.

Toilet ran entire three days

Even after being reported on the first day, no action was taken. The room was arranged so that everyhting was "inconvenient" - including a table that butted up to half of the couch, rendering it useless. They need an interior designer - or someone who knows howto arrange furnitur for utility, comfort and aesthetic charm.

Good room for the price.

Housekeeping had missed a few things when cleaning the room from the previous guest - Reese’s peanut butter cup paper on the floor, used straw in the night stand, etc. However, the bathroom and the sheets were clean. The front desk clerk was very nice. Check-in and check-out was very efficient. Overall, the people were nice, the room was comfortable, and I was able to get a good night’s sleep.

Clean, great price. Hopefully I’ll have no reason to be down that way again but if I am I would stay there.

Adequate for short stay

Hotel looked pretty new. Biggest drawback was that it was located right next to a railroad track. Train blows horn as it comes through. I didn’t hear it come through at night; but, it would be a wake-up call at 8:00am if you weren’t already up!

Traveler's tip on dining

We missed eating at our favorite place (Tunk’s) on Kincaid Lake. Closed Sun-Mon. Check it out for good catfish and crawfish (when in season).

Even though we made our reservation on line, when we got there, they changed our room to downstairs (at our request) immediately, with no hassle. Very accommodating!

Hotel is in need of of a serious renovation. I was surprised to hear that the hotel didn’t have an elevator but could deal with that. The appearance was nothing like the photo’s shown on line. I guess these were from when the doors first opened 20 years ago. There were broken light fixtures at the pool area. There was an odor in the hallway and cracks in the walls and ceiling. In my room there was shotty patch work in the bathroom. There was also cracks in the walls in my room. The entire room needed painting. This was not what I expected for the cost. I have always been satified with the accommodations made with expedia until now.....

Some employees are better than others

I was there to pick up my 18 month who had had been on visistation with her father for two months and had a lot of things of course to get to the taxi.and of course I was alone I did not see an elevator (which I may have missed) or a luggage cart. Of course my daughter cannot really get up and down the stairs back and forth with me while I moved two months worth of childrens items so I had to leave her in the room while I moved things and then carry her down. I was a little upset that there was only one person in working in the whole building that couldnt help me because she was watching the counter. She was surly when I asked for help or to at least watch my bags while I fetched my daughter and never made any other suggestions if I had in fact missed an elevator or a luggage cart, then sat on her butt while I tried to get things out to the curb not more than two feet from the desk. The woman from the night before was wonderful, however. She was helpful in any way should be even if it wasnt very much, at least she tried where she could. But overall other than this one lazy and rude woman I had brief but nice stay. Thank you.

Try to ask for a room on the ground when traveling with small children if you are alone.

Not Too Bad

The hotel was quite expensive, but I think that is because I stayed there on a weekend when most of the hotels were booked already. The public areas of the hotel were quite clean, but the rooms weren’t as clean. However, all of the rooms were quite large (we had booked four rooms). The continental breakfast was quite limited in variety, but was enough to get you started for the day. Overall, not a bad place to stay.

The price and because the hotel had easy access to nearby interstate was why I chose this location to stay with my fiancee for a little pre-wedding getaway. I was very pleased with the room and facilities. Hotel staff was good, but not welcoming or cheerful or very cheerful. Free breakfast had very slim pickings, but good coffee. Overall, I would stay there again, but probably consider going eat breakfast somewhere else next time.

Very, Very Nice Hotel

It was a very nice experience with this hotel. The room was clean, quiet, comfortable and roomy. It had all the things I needed if I had to stay for a week: Mini breakfast, wireless high-speed internet, fridge, microwave, reclining lounge chair, plenty of TV channels including HBO and a big king -size bed. All for a good price. I wished I could have stayed longer.
