Good for what we paid for

The hotel was good, it was exactly what we needed. We only stayed for one night and we did not want to pay the outrageous prices of other hotels (it was Daytona Bike week) and other hotels were four times what they normally cost. This HOJO was conviently about 15 to 20 minutes from the Daytona Speedway which is exactly where we needed to go. I mean this is no 4 star hotel so you can’t expect fresh flowers in the room and a contemporary decor, the rooms are simple and all we asked for was a clean bathroom and clean beds. Perfect for those people who just need a place to sleep for a few nights.

Filthy rooms. Once we got a look at the room, we went straight away to get disinfectant spray + wipes. We had to clean the entire surface of the room, before unloading our bags. Obviously the vacuum wasn’t being worn out, all kinds of food stuff was left on the floor. The room was somewhere between a really bad fraternity house and a condemned gas station. The perimeter of the property has tons of trash, including old tires. Glad I had my shots updated.

Mildew and bare mattresses!! Ewwww!

This was a horrible place - we didn’t even stay there the rooms were so bad. We had two adjoining rooms. The first room we opened the door and the smell of mildew was so strong it made my nose start running and my eyes itching immediately. I thought, OK, we’ll ask for a different room and just not have adjoining rooms, let’s just put the suitcases in the other room. We opened the door to the second room and the beds weren’t even made! There were no linens on the beds at all! They were not apologetic at all when I went back to the front desk and explained the situation. They acted as if we had interrupted their day when they might have to find additional rooms for us. We just left. It wasn’t worth it to me to have to deal with such a horrible place.

Nice Hotel next to major highway

The hotel/ inn was nicely located next to a major Florida highway. My room was nice. The weather was a bit too cold to use the lovely outdoor swimming pool though. My one suggestion would be to put a small refrigerator in each room. I like to drink cold milk and fruit juice in the morning. Sometimes a cold beer at night is OK too. There is a modestly nice bar/ restaurant right next to the hotel though.

The staff made the visit special

The management has excellent staff who are very service oriented and friendly. The rooms are recently remodeled and nice for lower end motel. Some areas of the hotel itself are worn and in need of repair. Unfortunately, nonsmoking rooms do have a left over residue smell, which can be overcome with deodorizer.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE!

Upfront desk personnel more interested in the TV program than checking me in-so unprofessional-actually rude. The whole place needs a pressure washing or a washing of any sort. Inside the room-we asked for non-smoking but were given a stale smelling obviously smoking room. The double bed was the pits- sheets pulling off in middle of the night due to no elastic to hold them on -towels the thinnest ever- hard small bed. Definitly stay away from this place. Even the pool was dirty!

Go 2 HoJo’s in Deland

At first we were worried when we saw it was "Biker Night" at the Motel’s Restaurant. And we could hear music from the bar in the lobby when we checked in. But the manager put us in a nice, quiet room on the other side of the motel. He even offered to help carry our bags! Very nice, friendly place with a great pool.

Facilities are currently being upgraded. The rooms were fair but the bathroom need to be properly cleaned. The shower/tub was not clean. The rooms need some level of upgrade. The staff was very nice. The recent construction along the highway make it difficult to find the facitlty. This may worsen as time goes forward.

A Dump

This hotel should not be in business because it needs complete renovation and a thorough cleaning. The grounds and pool area have not been maintained for years. The building looks like it’s going to fall down and the room was dirty and need to be refurnished. We were unable to get our money back which is very disappointing to say the least.

Stay away from this hotel!!
