Convenient Location
We had stayed at this hotel once before a few years ago. We were very happy with the hotel that time and when we were coming back to Bordeaux we definitely wanted to stay at the same hotel. The location is convenient, the room was very clean and the service was very good.

Good standard hotel
Location was convenient, 10 mns walk from main shopping area. Rooms were very small and decoration a bit dated. However, the service was so good that I would recommend this hotel.

Very good overall experience
Burdigala is a clean hotel with a warm, helpful staff in a modern commercial section of Bordeaux. Front desk staff were very helpful with winery suggestions and reservations. Only slight negative was that the hotel feels a bit sterile. Location is in a modern (cold-feeling) commercial area, but is only a 10 minute walk from Old Town.
Traveler's tip
Tips for wine travelers. Most high-end wineries require at least 2 weeks advance reservations, so make these early. My favorite place on the trip was beautiful village of St. Emilion - make sure to spend at least a half a day (and a meal) there. Finally, Bordeaux may be the capital of the wine region, but Id recommend staying outside of Bordeaux closer to the wineries (in St. Emilion, for example).
