Great choice and location
We loved our stay here. Service was excellent throughout the hotel. Close to subway stop. Great breakfast buffet.
Traveler's tip
Make sure you get a tourist map that includes the Chinese characters. Most cabbies don’t speak English and this map will save your life. If your hotel isn’t shown on the map, have your hotel give you a card with the characters so you can get home easily. Cabs are very cheap here and you will use them alot.

Wait until they have completed the subway (next year)
Lovely hotel, a Westin room in every way. Very clean, service good, breakfast acceptable. HOWEVER, in spite of my request for a quiet room, I was slotted in a room facing the street. No problem when I arrived about midnight and I foolishly wondered if the construction knocked off at night. Chalk that up to jet lag. Must have been a lunch break - and you do hear the construction noises in the room, even on a high floor. (I was on 14.) Subway will be completed in 2010.
Traveler's tip on dining
LOVELY new restaurant next to the National Palace Museum - second floor of a new building. I think it is called SILKS. Had a good-sized, very tasty meal for about $20 and felt like a queen.
