lack of privacy
I put the "Do not disturb" sign on the door knob. However a person that looked like a family member of the manager took it off and let herself in anyway and came inside my room as I was getting dressed. After I left, somebody came and changed the towels, even though I had told them I needed no service. (Same morning).

Unpleasant experience
The check-in person was nice enough, but my one-night stay at this hotel was all downhill after that. I wont go into the couple of minor points since they are, well, minor compared to the significant items. The more significant items in my opinion: The mattress felt like it had about zero padding - I could feel the individual springs and wires on which I lay. The one morning I was there, the "Continental Breakfast" had run out of a few items (waffle batter, apple juice, etc) and they were not replaced in the time that I was there - there was not even anyone at the front desk to whom this problem could have been reported at the time I was there. The checkout was frustrating: the woman at the front desk spoke little English so I had to wait for the man (who seemed to be the manager or owner or something) at the front desk to get off the phone which seemed to be to be a personal call. I stood in front of this fellow for the few minutes he spent on the call before wrapping it up (that is not what I would call good customer service). Dealing with him to try to get what I wanted (a copy of the checkin sheet that I signed) was unpleasant - he seemingly was not listening to me at first, and then when he -did- seem to understand what I was asking for, he seemed rather annoyed. Again, this was certainly NOT what I consider good (or even "acceptable") customer service.
