Excellent room with good rates
I found that the weekend that parents move their students to Oregon State University, the hotels closest to campus raise their rates, or won’t let you stay beginning a Sunday night. I booked this hotel even though it was a small distance from campus because the rates were so much better. I dreaded what I would find. It was wonderful! Clean, fruit in the lobby, nice help, an excellent, spacious clean room, a great breakfast (included), free local paper and USA Today, restaurants across the street (Italian and Mexican). It was also across the street from Bed Bath and Beyond, which has a deal where you can order dorm furnishings from anywhere, and pick it up at the store closest to your college. There was a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a coffee/tea pot in the room, couches, a desk, and ample space for two to not trip over each other. I was very impressed, and would definately go back again when visiting. There was also a pool and a small room with three pieces of exercise equipment.
Traveler's tip
If you rise late and miss the breakfast, there are several good breakfast spots on 3rd. There are a lot of one-way streets, so take a map!

on the cusp?
desk service was great-- room cleaning was poor--screen door was broken as well as the large table and a panel that fell off the vanity in the middle of the night. when the cable tv went out i finally told the desk about ALL of it (cable was the straw-cuz i’m not that fussy) they fixed all the items promptly but--they all broke again the next day-except the cable. the fixes where not the first for these items ( shown by the glue and double faced tape used. hope this can help you improve in these areas. your rates are great and so was your breakfast. thanks for asking brett&susan dowell
