nice service staff
Although the hotel was a bit old-fashioned in the decor department, the staff made every effort to ensure that our stay was pleasant. The desk clerk, Vicki, suggested a fantastic restaurant,Mariners, in town overlooking a lake. Food and service was great...just as she said. We were given a map and directions to the historic downtown area. The morning staff was very accommodating at breakfast which was clean, organized, well stocked. The morning desk mgr. helped me with some computer inquiries.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
This is a very historic old French settlement, one of the first, if not THE FIRST in Louisiana. Downtown area, along the Cane River is very interesting. Go to the Visitors Info. Center first for suggestions on what to see and do.
