Mandarin Oriental Singapore experience lives up to the reputation
The Mandarin Oriental lives up to its reputation as an outstanding hotel. The rooms are outstanding in quality, decor, cleanliness, and size. I was on the top floor so I had outstanding views of the city and would recommend this to anyone staying there. I heard that the hotel exterior was a bit dated from a colleague of mine, but that was not my experience. I would recommend this hotel.
Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay
Well worth the small investment to get on top floors of hotel. The views are fantastic! There are walkways to adjoining hotels and malls that make it really easy to not have to get in a cab if you dont feel like it.

Most impressive, lounge excellent location to watch New Years fireworks
This hotel is a 5 star establishment and is a wonderful property to stay in Singapore. For the price on Expedia, I think the hotel lives up to expectations for its service and rooms. One small disadvantage to offset the glowing review is the closest MRT station is quite a walk through a maze of shopping tunnels. However, the bus stop is just across the street.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Skip the hotel breakfast buffet and choose any number of mall eateries for a fraction of the buffet price.

Great Hotel, bad location
This hotel itself was great, with an impressive interior atrium design and rooms with great views of the Singapore Flyer (the ferris wheel) and the rest of Marina Bay. However, its location is not as great. It requires going through a small emergency staircase and a service corridor to enter the nearest mall - Marina Square, and the whole experience feels very ghetto. Its not near any MRT stations either, so expect to walk a lot, or spend for taxi rides all the time. But the hotel itself is really great, and it depends on what you really want out of your hotel.

Top notch hotel
This chain consistently delivers top quality all around. Mandarin Oriental Singapore lives up to expectations. Nice views of harbor, nicely designed building, great service, the food at the hotels Chinese restaurant is exceptional.
Traveler's tip on dining
The hotels Chinese restaurant is a must. Try the Peking Duck as well as any of the several barbecued pork dishes.

Windows on the club level had food caked on them.
Oriental Club Lounge, exclusive champagne breakfast(very good) , evening cocktails with (bad)hors doeuvres. The windows in the club lounge were dirty all 4 days that we were there, even after I complained. Get ready to drop a lot of cash in Singapore $$$$ - 2 draft beers at hotel= $ 30.00
Traveler's tip on shopping
The is a mall on every block. Shop Shop Shop!!!

The best in Singapore
I have stayed in many great hotels around the world, from the ritz, to Kimpinski, to the four seasons. I classify this hotel to be among the top ones. The service is just perfect, the rooms are sparkling new, the bathrooms are fully equiped and surrounded with the best marbel and towels. I got the harbour view room, it is simply stunning. Go for it.

Extremely Attentive Service
Loved the attention to little things, e.g. bringing you a free sorbet and bottled water when going to the pool.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
You can extend checkout time to 8 pm and get breakfast, afternoon tea and use of business lounge for Sing $120. If you hesitate, they might cut price to $100, so there is some room for negotiation.

One Night Just Isnt Enough
You know you are in for a treat the moment your car pulls up outside the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Singapore. The lobby is an oasis of calm with the friendliest, most helpful receptionist and bell boys waiting to cater to your every need. The semi-circular bank of elevators is illuminated by a glorious chandelier cascading from five floors above. The rooms are impressive. You enter into a small hallway anticipating what delights await you at the end. A dressing area is separated from the main bedroom by carved screens. To the right is a marble bathroom with deep soaking tub, separate glass shower and every toiletry imaginable, including a jar of bath salts by the tub. The bedroom features a large flat screen T.V., a good sized desk with Technology Kit and plugs, well supplied stationary drawers and beautiful orchids. The Room Service Menu is extensive as well as being rather expensive. I had the Chicken Tikka Masala which came with a bowl of rice, 6 different condiments in copper bowls, 2 pieces of Nan bread etc. It was delicious, filling and worth every penny! I had an early morning flight the next day and was woken on time by a real person at the end of the phone. The Check Out process was as delightful as Check In with the receptionist walking me to the hotel door. Many hotels may claim to be 5 Star but the Mandarin Oriental puts them all to shame.

Extremely Luxe
The hotel was very beautiful, conviently located, staff was always helpful, and lots of the sightseeing venues and shopping were within walking distance. Cab fare was cheap for the other areas of town that were great to see. There were multiple good restaurants in the hotel and close by. Pool and spa were really special.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
Lots of good sightseeing was available within walking distance of the hotel. We did not have time for a tram ride to the island there, but we heard that it was worth seeing.

Beautiful Hotel - Good location - Excellent Staff
A beautiful hotel. Only 220 voltage which meant no curling iron. All food and drinks very expensive, but this is to be expected at such a fine hotel. A shopping mall is within feet of the hotel and has everything you could want including food and drinks at a more reasonable price. The hotel staff were more than willing to assist with our request and always called us by name. We have a view of the marina which was breath taking. The swimming pool was huge, clean, quiet with excellent staff.
Eat elsewhere. The mall next door has everything your children would enjoy (pizza, burgers, chicken) as well as exciting meals for your taste. There is a bowling alley, cinema, game room all within the mall. We were there during the holdiays and there were live singers throughout the day to entertain the shoppers.
