A couple in the room next to us must have got into an argument and we could hear the whole thing and nothing was done by the hotel staff after we complained.

A good place to stay for aquick retreat- close to Charleston attractions and right at Patriots Point

The hotel was clean, there were no issues and served as a base for our excursions. Using Expedia, there was nothing to complete but get the keycard, enjoy the stay and turn it in as we left; everything else was taken care of. The price was right for a "quick retreat"

A Good Place

The hotel was great, service was topline. The place was clean and everyone was super nice. The only problem was I felt the rooms were small. But I will be back to stay again

Good value for the price

The hotel is located outside the historic distric but conveniently close although is not the right place if you want to be smack in the middle of everything. I only stay one night but found it clean with plenty of parking and friendly service at the front desk. It is also in quiet area. I’ll recommended if you’re looking to save some money on hotel stay and still want to be close to the historic distric, although you’ll need a car.

I asked the front desk for an italian restaurant and they recommended one nearby that turnned up a little to fancy for what we wanted, by chance there was another one in the same plaza that was a nice family run restaurant with good italian food. You can miss it, there are not too many restaurants in the area other than fast food ones.

Front Desk Girls Are Not Interested In Customer Service

When checking into the hotel, the girl’s cell phone was NOT on silent or vibrate, it was on full blast and was ringing off the hook and she was recieving text messages constantly. She had "lil wayne" ring tone which could be heard all the way over by the breakfast bar and tables. I just didn’t think that someone who is involved with working with the public as closely as she does should not be having there cell phone on anything other than silent or even have them on their person at all! Once i got to my room however things were better.. the room was nice..the bathroom was decent. The walls, and floor in the shower were almost scummy so i literally washed the tub before showering. the breakfast bar was very nice in the morning with fantastic waffles and other choices. The woman checking me out, thank god, was not the same woman who checked me in. she was nice and pleasent.

The staff was very friendly and did a fine job of paying attention to my stay’s specific needs.

Okay, but not great

Overall the hotel was okay, but I had issues with both the temperature of the shower water (sink water was fine, but the shower never got above luke warm) and the acoustics (you could hear people talking and sneezing out in the parking lot right through the walls). While not huge issues, they were enough to make my stay less than great.

Great hotel, great location

This Patriot’s Point hotel had everything I look for in a great budget stay. A large clean, quiet, updated room with a small frig and microwave. The bathroom was first-class budget luxury and very clean. The location of the hotel is perfect, as it is off a frontage road in a beautiful wooded area and is very secluded and quiet. In addition, it is close to two small shopping areas that include Whole Foods, Starbucks, Harris Teeter and others. There is a Wendy’s, Hardee’s and two fabulous barbeque restaurants close by. Driving into Charleston is a piece of cake, as it is just over the Cooper River bridge; only minutes away. I didn’t eat the complimentary breakfast they offered, but I found the staff to be some of the nicest, most helpful people I’ve ever run across. They were wonderful! I highly recommend Best Western Patriot’s Point.

A great place to get local flavor and delicious food is to go to Shem’s Creek in Mt. Pleasant. You’ll see old wharfs, shrimp boats and there is a wonderful restaurant there called Shem’s Creek Bar and Grill. Freshest seafood ever!!

Mediocre

The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly, particularly when my Expedia reservation was not logged in their system. This could’ve been a major catastrophe (for a weekend stay at a popular beach), but the staff were helpful in accomodating and honoring my reservation. The (very small) room was comfortable, but the carpet didn’t seem clean. It isn’t at all a modern hotel: it could stand to benefit from a facelift--in all facets. Their complimentary breakfast seemed to be a hit with most of the other guests--cereal, muffins, waffles, some fruit, juice, and coffee. I don’t think I’d chose this hotel again, but it wouldn’t be the end of the world if I had to stay there again. For the area and season, the rate was competitive, but you get what you pay for.

We would stay here again. Staff was friendly, the breakfast area was clean and well kept.

Just Fine

No complaints, it’s an older hotel. My room was clean and everything worked, comfortable bed. Close to most attractions, but off the main roads which helped make it quiet.

Great vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at the Best Western in Patriots Point. The room was comfortable, the staff was courteous and friendly. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices for everyone. The only downside was that although the bathroom was cleaned everyday, the beds were not made up each day we stayed. Some of that may have been our fault for leaving stuff all over the beds but we were still surprised to find they had not been straightened out. It overall was a great experience for the money. I would definitely stay there again.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

There are some local attractions walking distance from the Hotel. My daughter and I woke early to go for a walk over the bridge. There is also lots of shopping nearby if you like that kind of stuff.

Would return

If we ever go back to Charleston, S.C. we will definitely stay here. It was a bit crazy at the continental breakfast because there were lots of kids on Spring Break school trips, and that wasn’t really a problem, just crowded. The room was clean and nice, we were very satisfied.

When visiting Charleston, a 3 mile trip across the new Arthur Ravenel Bridge saves you lots of $$$ on the cost of a hotel.

Market Square in Historic Charleston. Lots of good places to eat and drink. I especially enjoyed the rooftop bars.

Got what I paid for

This hotel was very satisfactory. Rooms were kinda small, but for the price it was a good bargain. Bathrooms were clean, bed was clean, and the staff was helpful as well. Also, the breakfast was as good as a free breakfast can be expected to be.

The hotel was full each night of our stay and was very quiet. There was only lukewarm water on the third floor and the sheets were not changed daily. We liked the location as it was next to a bus stop and several restaurants within 3 blocks. Staff was friendly and helpful.
