Disappointing Level of Service
I chose this hotel based on it’s location and because I had been relatively happy with previous Rydges hotels that I had stayed at. However, the bathroom was very ordinary - there was mould in the grout in the shower, fittings falling off, and holes in the wall where other fittings had been removed. Also, when checking out early, there was no-one at the front desk (the foyer was locked) despite being informed that they offered 24-hour service. A good location and reasonable breakfast buffet, but disappointing otherwise.
Traveler's tip on shopping
The recently-built mall in Canberra City is fantastic. The movie theater offers a lounging area (sometimes with live music), and the new cafes have a very fun, lighthearted European feel.
