Dont Expect Too Much

The hotel looks good, the lobby is grand. Most if not all the rooms are located at the back of the hotel in a 2-storey type structure. if you have alot of luggages to bring, you have to bring them up to your room using the stair (yes, no elevators for a 2-storey building) The room itself is cozy, the front is all glass with drapes, so you need to make sure that they are always pulled together. There is no water to drink unlike the other hotels where they have a fridge with complimentary water and/or coffee. just cups and a heater. No complimentary tootbrush and wifi connection (youll pay for this). Complimentary breakfast is at 6:30am, so if you’re going to be out before 6:30am, i dont think you can even ask for coffee. Other hotels have like doggy bags for those guests who are going to be out before the breakfast buffet. If you’re on a budget and just wants to have a place to sleep (you’ll sleep soundly that is guaranteed) then his is the place for you. Otherwise, try to scout around for options

We preferred this hotel to others nearby we have used and will use it in future

Our recent stay at this hotel was our second; it has recently changed its name to City Garden Hotel and there has been refurbishing particularly in the bathroom area. The hotel is extremely quiet despite its closeness to the air port and a busy road. The included continental breakfast is more than addiquate and the coffee is good. We found their parking policy very useful for stays abroad for up to four weeks.

very basic hotel but cheap

The room was very basic the carpet had mysterious red stains!! The complimentary breakfast was also very very basic but you get what you pay for and it was pretty cheap.

Get What You Pay For

Hotel was nice, but the neighbors are terrible. Very noisey hotel. Garbage pickup was between 2 and 3 a.m. every morning. There is a manufacturer that works 24 hours next door. I didn’t have one good nights sleep the entire week I stayed here. Overall the hotel is nice, but shower water was hot and cold. The breakfest buffet is skippy. Not much of a choice. Coffee tasted good though. Overall, I would go out of my way to stay at another hotel. Sorry.

flair on the outside with no maintenance

The hotel has stuff that it can use to make it work but that is all. the receptionist was friendly and there was decent free airport shuttle that could be used however that is it. the room’s carpeting was wet throughout the room as if someone had thrown water on it. The breakfast was awful. The non smoking room smelt like someone has just smoked in it. I will not recommend this place to anyone, except if they really want to save money or are just going to crash in for the night.

Will fit a busy traveler’s needs.

Roomy, comfortable, had washer and dryer facilities. Close to airport and highway. 5 mins from Rental Car drop off. Not fancy - not expensive.

Noisy but cheap

The room where we were assigned was literally next to the highway and you hear people passing by and talking loud at night time. But price was pretty cheap! Settings were more like an "Inn".

Very disappointing hotel

Our stay was very unsatisfactory. Our keys had to be reprogrammed several times. A maintenance man barged into our room to check the phone. He had no ID and no uniform. He was irritated that I asked for ID. My husband and I left the door open during his visit. Continental breakfast was disappointing with few selections and food that ran out and was not replaced. Dirty room; uncomfortable and lumpy bed; broken tub faucet; dim lighting in the bathroom; squeaky toilet lid; two flat pillows; hotel staff was not rude, but not friendly or helpful either. Would definitely not stay here again.

Disappointed

I paid for a 2-bed room because I was visiting San Francisco with a friend but when I checked in they gave me a room with one king bed instead and said they had a double bed room available for only the second night of my stay so rather than change rooms 3 times, I agreed to stay in the single room and needless to say, had three very awkward nights with my friend and I sleeping in the same bed. I was very disappointed. It’s a good thing all the activities we did during the day in San Francisco were fun, or the hotel run-around may have ruined my whole getaway.

Warning: very low budget

We decided to go with CitiGarden because the description stated that it was newly renovated and the pictures looked decent. We were on a business trip so we had to keep expenses down. I must say that I was very disappointed because the door key we were given didn’t work. Every time we left our room and came back we needed to wait for the maintenance man to come open our door because they told us the key system is very old. The beds were very uncomfortable. Expect for the hot water to go on and off during your showers. I would not stay here again unless I was broke and had no where else to stay.

Traveler's tip for business travelers

Very close to SFO airport.

Not bad for the price

I stayed at this hotel with my g/f to be near the 49er game the following day and for the price, it wasn’t bad. True you hear the planes and freeway, but what do you expect when you want to stay near the airport. A lot of people commented on the noise and cleanliness, but for the price, it was okay. Not the best and certainly not the worst.

Traveler's tip

Although the buffet is next door, there is a better buffet in Daly City/So. City called Moonstar & ToDai that is waaay better if you don’t mind the drive.

Good place to stay.

We were very happy with the hotel. The staff was extremely helpful. It had the shuttle to the airport which was a necessity for us. And the coffee was on at 4:00 AM.

Very Inexpensive a Plus, Horrible Service a Minus

The CitiGardens was very economical choice for my partner and I. We are poor college students visiting South San Francisco for our good friends wedding. We checked in on a Friday afternoon and noticed some construction going on, on the floor above us. Since it was around 3pm we didnt mind. Around 5:30pm I called down to the desk asking when construction would be finished, I was told 5pm, when I said but its 5:30, the desk said it would be over soon. There was hammering and machine noise until we left for dinner around 7:30pm. We repeatedly called the front desk, who did little more than placate us, Ill check on that and it will be over soon were popular. We had a similar experience next day when my partner called down for an iron. He called about a few time and was every time told it was on the way. He went down to the front desk and they didnt have any behind the desk but they were going to send one right over. He finally saw another guest with an iron and got it from them. Overall the CitiGarden has recently been remolded but very poorly. We had a chair that was so badly stained that no one felt comfortable sitting on it without a towel to covering the stain! Our bed was Queen size but looked more like a Full. The wedding was a blast but no thanks to our accommodations at this place.

Reasonably Priced Airport Hotel

Hotel lobby and main building have been recently renovated. Rooms were clean and nice size. Extra Folding Cot was really more like a double bed - but we were able to make it fit in the room. Pool area was nice, but the cooler weather and the fact that it is not heated made swimming not a option - unless you are a polar bear.

Good for Park N Fly

We used this hotel for Park N Fly for long trips. It is convenient and it is reasonably priced. Seems like it is in the middle of rooms renovation. Hopefully, in the future, it can be a hotel which we can use for more than just Park N Fly.

Would definitely stay there again

The Hotel has a beautiful reception area which looks more like 4 stars than 2 stars. The garden looks nice too and is well maintained. The fact that the hotel does not sit right next to the freeway is a big plus. Most airport hotels are right next to the HWY. The restaurant offers a great buffet with a huge selection of seafood items. The airport shuttle is a great bonus.

Very dissapointed

We stayed at this hotel for the free parking while we were on vacation out of state. The night before we left: beautiful lobby; carpet in room filthy; old sink attached to wall had no counter space at all and leaked all over the floor when used; cold air blowing in through bottom and side of door because there was no weather stripping so we had to stuff towels to block the air; only 2 vending machines...1 took some of my money without giving me anything; bed was hard; appeared most of the rooms were being remodeled; shuttle to airport was convenient. We spent the night upon our return a week later: stood outside in the cold wind for late shuttle; my hubby accidentally booked this room as standard so it was a smoking room and reaked!; carpet filthy; A/C - heating unit appeared to have not been dusted in at least 9 months; walls with brown/black filth; bathroom wall had a cut out in it with no repair; shower head falling away from tile; toilet seat appeared to have old urine splatter on it; tub so filthy we didn’t shower; breakfast juices/milk warm & not on ice; lady rinsed glass after she handled trash without washing her hands. My husband apologized repeatedly for booking here. This is a place you stay when you break down in the middle of the night and have no other hotel options.

GOOD PLACE TO STAY

The hotel is very accessible. It is close to the airport, freeway entrance, shopping centers is only an exit away and San Francisco was only a ten minute drive. This is great because the hotels in downtown San Francisco make you pay for parking. So you pay for parking at the hotel and then have to pay for parking at the locations you are visiting. I rather do the ten minute drive, get a free parking spot in front of my room and rest. It was a great place for me to stay since on my vacation I did not only go to San Francisco but other locations in northern California. In the morning they offer you cereal, orange juice, apple juice, coffee, toast, bagels, jam, butter and peanut butter. That would get my family and I started on the road and give us time to find a restaurant when we arrived to our destination. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and seemed like they had been remodeled. I checked in with no problems and checked out with no issues.

A Very Pleasant Stay

Despite a lot of negative reviews for this hotel, I must say that they were proven wrong. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The shuttle bus to and from the airport was great! Nice drivers with the exception of one which drove me to the airport on my last day in San Francisco - but I didn’t really care, I’m originally from New York after all, I’m used to abrasive attitudes. My room was clean and cozy, towels were replaced everyday. It was enough to just come to sleep at night. My room came with its own heat/AC unit which was very useful during the chilly nights there. The best part was the free breakfast in the mornings. There was bread, mini bagels, cereal, milk, orange juice, apple juice, coffee, tea, butter and cream cheese. It was enough to fill up on to start off my day of exploring. The ladies who set up the breakfast spread were really nice and you should tip them! The only thing about this hotel that can be bothersome is its location. It’s far from downtown San Francisco and you will have to figure out the best way to get there. Luckily the SamTrans bus stops right in front of the hotel, which made traveling around much easier. I would stay here again. Especially for the affordable price and great service.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

To get from the hotel to downtown San Francisco take the SamTrans busline, don’t take BART from the airport - it’s way too expensive. The SamTrans busline stops right in front of the hotel, which is VERY convenient.

Lovely place

This hotel was just gorgeous! Beautifully decorated lobby and breakfast rooms. Our hotel room was spacious, clean and very tastefully decorated. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. It is close to the airport yet very quiet considering, and I would definitely stay here again!
