Very Helpful Staff
The Dorint in Dresden is a very lovely hotel with a very helpful staff who are fluent in English. Location is good, withing walking distance of the city historic center. And one of the tour buses stops just outside the hotel entrance. There was also a terminal near the front desk for travelers to check email and it was quite private, which was very nice. Internet access was complimentary. The only negative was that breakfast cost an additional 16 euros ($24.00 with the exchange rate at the time). We never had breakfast in the hotel and had to hike a ways to find a restaurant offering breakfast. However, I would still recommend the hotel.
We traveled via Euro City train from Vienna to Dresden and it was a very scenic ride, particularly when we entered the Elbe River Valley.

Pick another one
Our room was very clean and nice, but the room was located above the lounge. The music was non-stop at night. The hotel was booked 8 months in advance. We contacted the front desk to change rooms but they were no help. The indoor pool is ice cold. We do not recommend using the sauna at this hotel. The food at the restaurant was very good, but the service was extremely slow. Over all the staff at the hotel was not at all helpful.

Short walk to Old Town of Dresden. Short cab to train Station. Dresden is a beautiful place.

There are no instruction in English on TV or any other services, which causes misunderstanding.
