great hotel...quite location
Hotel is very nice and modern! Its a little away from all the city action, but only a 5 minute tram ride away. Definately worth the money!

Great hotel
The concierge service was great, location was a little outside the main tourist areas but for me that was a plus as Amsterdam can sometimes be too "hippieish" for me. Room service was great and we actually got our first breakfast for free (approx. 50 euro value). The outdoor bar and lawn are the best for a nice August afternoon.

A peaceful, beautiful neighborhood
We really enjoyed the location of this hotel which was away from the hustle and bustle of the city but just a quick 2 block walk to the tram to Central Station. Additionally it was within walking distance to the 2 major museums and much more. After busy days of walking all over this city sightseeing it was a pleasure to come back to the hotel and enjoy the quiet of the tree covered streets in a beautiful neighborhood. Lots of nice cafes for breakfast with the locals gave us the ability to chat with those who actually live there instead of with only other tourists. The down side was the concierge service- in general they lacked any expertise- every guy who manned the doors or took care of luggage was a "concierge" and some were clearly better than others. Worse- they never asked some key questions which might have saved us from a long and fruitless trip to a museum in Belgium which turned out to be closed until October. Since the hotel offered a day long bus trip to this city they should have known that this key site was closed and saved us the expense and time.
Traveler's tip
Amsterdam is a beautiful city and should be walked- bring good shoes or sneakers. We were on our feet 14 hours some days. Take a canal ride early in your stay to get an overall picture of the city. And, beware of the concierge at this hotel.
