A quiet hotel in Pimlico
A bit off the beaten path - a short bus ride or walk to Victoria Station - but amazingly quiet. Close to the Embankment, beautiful gardens, good service, nice pool and fitness club, onsite convenience stores, free laundry machines, very low rates for phone calls. We chose the apartment style room which had a nice kitchen, so we were able to eat in when we wanted.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
We bought day passes for the bus (available at Underground stations) and with a good London street/bus route map we made do-it-yourself bus/walking tours of the principal attractions of central London. Check for free days and late hours at museums and other attractions. Great variety of Asian restaurants in Chinatown, near Piccadilly Circus. For soccer fans, the pub at Chelsea FC Stadium (Stamford Bridge) is a great place to watch matches if you can’t get tickets.

Comfortable place to stay
We stayed at Dolphin House for one week. The staff was helpful, the hotel was quiet and the beds were comfy. Our room had a small kitchen, and there was a grocery and liquor store on the ground floor. The gardens were pretty. Only 2 blocks to the Pimlico underground station, so it was easy to get around.
Traveler's tip on local attractions
The hotel is only a block from the Thames, so we enjoyed walking along the river to the British Tate museum. Also try the sticky toffee pudding in the hotel restaurant. Yum.

London with Family
Leisure travel to London with wife, 2 children (13 and 17). Rented two bedroom apt. Great. Small kitchen with washer. Location great. Staff great. Close to tube and bus. A little about London. Great museums and sites. Taxis, food, expensive. Great one time visit.
Be prepared to walk and use tube and bus system. Very easy and convenient. Took $100 taxi from Heathrow to hotel but would take subway next time. A little longer but easy.
