parking lot
The hotel parking lot is frequented by junkies and prostitutues. Dont trust me, walk around the parking lot. Cars frequently get broken into we were told. Ask the front desk, they have a camera of the parking lot but dont use it. We were placed in three rooms, some were clean, others had no functioning air conditioning.

What you get for a bargain
At first glance in our room #11, we were diappointed at how small the room was and the lack of amenities. The hole where the AC was placed had not been repaired. The room otherwise was clean, especially the bathroom. Shower had great water pressure and plenty of hot water. The hotels redeeming quality came in the morning when they delivered croissants, pastries, hot chocolate and coffee to our room (albeit at 7am but they let us change that to 9!). Hot buttery croissants and hot chocolate made my day. The metro is only a block and a half away and very easy to use. There are some restaurants within walking distance especially up Rue St Denis. I woul drecommend this hotel to anyone who is not looking for fancy but will be happy with clean and neat and yummy croissants in the morning. Just beware the outlets, they arent very sturdy!
Traveler's tip on dining
We ate very well in Montreal. Would recommend sho dan for some very interesting sushi and there was a crepe and fondue shop on Rue St Paul in Vieaux Montreal that was to die for! Must also try their excargot if you find it. Cant remember the name but its the first one onthe left that you come to if walking from the Basilica. Enjoy!

Best Deal In The Village
On a quiet side street only steps from St. Catherine, The St. Andre is much better than some higher-priced hotels in the area. Breakfast delivered to the room at the time YOU choose is a big bonus!!! Only 1 block from the BERRI-UQAM metro station making city travel easy and cost-effective. I plan to return soon !!!!!
