didn’t care that I was stranded
My reservation was for 1 night, but my car broke down right before I got there (Saturday evening). I had intended to leave on Sunday but was not sure my car would be fixed in time, so I inquired about extending my stay. Because this was the weekend before the presidential inauguration, they would have required me to book an additional 2 nights, not just 1, and would have charged more than 4 times, maybe 5 times, what I paid for the night I booked. I suppose it is all right for hotels to charge such wildly inflated prices when demand exists, as long as it’s not an emergency situation. But my individual situation was an emergency, and they made no effort to accommodate me. Not exactly hospitality. They had empty rooms and they could see that I arrived and left by tow-truck.

We spent the weekend in the DC area. Needed a place to stay which could also accomodate our two young dogs (5 months & 1-1/2 yrs old). Although we requested a room with one king bed, we got a room with two doubles, but we still had enough room to set-up the crate and allow the dogs room to move about. The breakfast was more than adequate, with plenty of food and a good selection as well. Hotel was easy to reach despite incorrect directions from our car GPS! In short, great price for a fine room with great continental breakfast. Quick access to nearby I395 and I495.
