Good hotel if going to Warner Theatre
Hotel is right across the street from the theatre. It is good if going to show and that is about it. Decent pub downstairs for food and drinks before show. Very old building so very noisy - can hear everything in halls and on street. TV was old and had lots of static. Room itself not too bad (or too nice), just noisy.

Awful
This hotel is not just old, but run down. It’s dirty, noisy, and creepy. Parking is in a back alley. One must go in through a back maze, and drag the luggage yourself. The "dining room" is a crummy part of the bar, and was full of locals going to theatre across street, so I was only allowed to order an appetizer in the bar. Although I had booked for 6 nights, I checked out the next morning with a rude young woman in dirty clothes.

We enjoyed our stay at the Yankee Pedlar
The hotel had lots of character and we felt like we stepped back in time. It is old and some of the hallways reminded me of The Shining. The staff was great and the lobby had interesting antiques. There was even a computer we could use to access the internet. We arrived very late and they have 24 hour desk service. They offered breakfast and even had real milk for the coffee. I would definately stay again at the Yankee Pedlar
Traveler's tip on dining
We went for a reunion and ate at a wonderful restaurant called The Tributary in Winsted which is only a few miles away. There is also ABC Pizza which has the most wonderful Greek Salads.
