General Information
What to expect: Spread over 20 acres of oceanfront, the 394-room Sheraton Kauai appeals to families and romance-seeking couples. The soothing sound of surf rolling across the lava-rock point in the resort's center contributes to the relaxing ambience. No building rises higher than a mature coconut tree, ensuring that the resort fits into its splendid setting.
Amenity highlights: The crescent of pale, powdery sand extending a quarter-mile from the Sheraton's center is irresistible, and excellent snorkeling waters border the resort's lava-rock point. There are two pools: one, with a slide and an adjacent spa tub, is near the beach; the other is across the street in the resort's northern section. An oceanside lawn provides a popular sunning spot.

A resort charge added to room charges covers amenities such as a luau reception four nights a week, as well as a torch-lighting ceremony with Hawaiian music. For children ages 5-12, the Keiki Aloha Club offers family-friendly activities; morning and afternoon sessions are available.

Naniwa Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar - Japanese restaurant and sushi bar located behind low dividing wall at one end of Shells Restaurant. Dinner only; reservations recommended. Open nightly, Tuesday through Saturday.
Shells Steak & Seafood Restaurant - Extensive ocean views. Buffet breakfasts served daily (as well as an à la carte menu); Pacific regional cuisine featuring fresh fish and local produce. Children 12 years and younger dine free (one child per adult, maximum of two children per table). Dinner reservations recommended.
The Point - Restaurant with long bar, couch seating, pool table, and TVs. A cook grills burgers and fish next to an outside terrace. Live music and dancing featured several nights per week. Casual menu served from late morning to midnight. Seating either inside or on the terrace.
Oasis Bar & Grill - Poolside spot serving burgers, fish sandwiches, salads, snacks, smoothies, and tropical cocktails during the day.
Recreation
Sheraton Kauai Resort has three tennis courts (two lighted). Kiahuna Golf Course is a five-minute drive away, and the Poipu Bay Resort Golf Course is 10 minutes away. Golf reservations, and reservations for all other activities available on Kauai, can be made at the concierge desk in the lobby.
