Fairfield Inn in Beckley, WV
I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights while traveling for business. The first day my room wasn’t cleaned because someone put an extra do not disturb sign on my door. I called the front desk and they sent someone up immediately and my bed was made and towels replaced. I then discovered some of the lamps in my room were not working...again a maintenance person was sent up immediately and the problem resolved. The hotel was very clean, The staff were very friendly and extremely accomodating. Considering this was a small town, they paid a great deal of attention to quality and service. I saw the manager interact with his team during a meeting and he instills the concept of customer service in the staff. It showed in the way they handled everything.
Traveler's tip on dining
The continental breakfast provided by the hotel was nice with a good variety of items...yogurt, cereal, hardboiled eggs, waffles, fruit, toast, muffins, juice and coffee/tea. The hotel is also located in an area surrounded by several fast food chains...Applebee’s, Outback Steakhouse and McDonalds and not far away are other privately owned restaurants as well as a CVS drugstore, Rite Aid and a grocerty store.
