Very Impressed
We enjoyed the large room, free happy hour drinks and free breakfast. Free covered parking was also a bonus! The hotel staff were all very nice.

A great place to stay in St. Louis
My husband and I recently spent a weekend at the Drury Inn Union Station in St. Louis. We chose this location because it was very close - within a 10 minute walk - of the Scottrade Center, where we were attending a concert. Although we picked the hotel almost exclusively due to location, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again, even if the location were not a big consideration. The hotel was an old YMCA, built to accommodate railway workers. One of the joys of certain Drury Inns is that they keep the character of the old buildings while renovating the rooms to the most modern standards (the Drury Inn Riverwalk in San Antonio is another good example). So, the Drury Inn Union Station features a glorious lobby with high ceilings, original woodwork, fireplace, marble floor - they dont make em like they used to. At the same time, our room - while on the small side - was equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, large flat screen TV, one of the most comfortable beds Ive experienced, and a bathroom that was spotlessly clean and extremely efficient. Parking is provided in an adjacent ramp that is accessed with your room card. The other features provided at the Drury - the breakfast, happy hour, popcorn in the lobby, etc. - were also appreciated. The Drury has an Italian restaurant in the building that was also excellent, far better than I expect most hotel restaurants to be. All in all, a great experience.
Two things are "must sees" to me in St. Louis: the Brewmaster Tour at the Anheuser Busch Brewery, and the Missouri Botanical Gardens. The Brewmaster Tour actually costs money - $25 a person - but is completely worth it. Instead of being herded around in a group of 30+ and spending roughly 60 minutes going through the brewery, our tour group included only 12 people, we had a tour guide to ourselves, the tour lasted 2 hours, and we saw areas of the brewery that the general tours dont see. One highlight was drinking Bud Light that had been drawn from a barrel just prior to the bottling line - talk about fresh! At the end of the tour, we were able to relax in a well appointed private lounge and sample the AB products. Totally enjoyable . . . and Im not even a huge fan of beer! The Missouri Botanical Gardens are exquisite. If you have any interest in gardening or just enjoy the beauty of outdoors, it is a "must see." We were there toward the end of October, spent over two hours and still did not make a complete circuit of the grounds. The Chinese and Japanese gardens are outstanding.

Will Stay again...
The outside and lobby of the hotel are gorgeous. The rooms seemed a little outdated with the exception of the bathroom. I did request a room with 2 doubles and received a room with a king, but that was not a big deal. They had a great breakfast and complementary beverages for all! I will stay again for the pros outweigh the cons.
