Good do-it-yourself hotel

On the up side: Practically on the beach, friendly atmosphere and complete breakfast included. On the down side: No one to help you with bags and the reat breakfasst served on plastic plates and with plastic cutlery, cups and glasses.

Not Impressed

The hotel has a musty smell and needs to be aired out. I was on floor three and as soon as you left the elevator to enter the floor you had a high smell that was there throughout the stay. I left one day early. Otherwise the service and staff were pretty good.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Stingray City and Rum Point are worth a visit. Places like Hell and the Cave in east end are a waste of money. The beaches are decent but I have seen much nicer beaches on some of the other Caribbean Islands

Great value for the price

Definitely recommend this hotel. Very clean, nice pool. Restaurant/Bar in back of hotel at poolside was very good and convenient. Also dive shop on premises is a plus. While it is not beachfront, you can be at the beach in about 30 seconds.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

While the bus transportation on Grand Cayman is excellent, they only run during the day, and sometimes it is a long walk to get where you need to go with limited cross walk access. If you can manage it, absolutely rent a car to get the most of the island, (especially the food - the best I’ve eaten on any Caribbean island) just be prepared to drive on the opposite side of the road!

Nice Place, Good Location, at the right price

Overall Great Place, This hotel is your Standard Business Style accomodations in that there are no balcony rooms and it does not have the typical "Resort" ammenities. However it does have a nice tropical pool area and a Great Pool Bar / resturant that is almost a destination in itself. and the Beach is just a short sandy pathway from the pool area away. Room was basic but nice, small fridge and microwave in a breakfast nook setup. Bed was Very comfortable (maybe New) and we Slept Great. Staff was always pleasant and helpfull the few times we had any needs. Location was very Nice. lots of Great Bars / Resturants within Easy walking distance and Town center was Just within a nice extended walking distance with good sidewalks most of the way varying from one side or the other. But for those that would rather drive there is a Good Discount Car rental place across the steet. We Rented a Car on day 3 of 5 to explore the rest of the Island. (But Remember they drive on the Left) Overall Thumbs up, we would stay here again.

nice stay

this hotel was close to seven mile beach. a short walk to the beach. dive shop and restaurant on premises made the stay easy and enjoyable. rental car company across the street was helpful for getting around. Continental breakfast was nothing fancy but satisfying. staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful. looking forward to returning to beautiful Grand Cayman soon.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Good find ... and so close to the beach!

This hotel is tucked behind expensive beachfront properties, just steps away from the ocean. There is no reason to pay more. Free breaksfast is great.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you have kids, definitely go to the Turtle Farm. Captain Dexter’s sting ray tours were awesome too.

Nice room, just off the beach, short walk to Georgetown.

Clean room, staff very kind. We had asked in advanced for two beds in our room, but the hotel was full. We also had to wait almost 3 hours to check-in.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

Turtle farm was interesting, and well worth the visit. Cemetary reef, located on 7 mile was also very nice with not alot of people.

OK Hotel

Not fabulous, but it is close to the beach. The bandaide floating in the pool was kinda gross.

Very nice hotel

We were staying at this hotel in July. Even it was a rainy season the weather was very nice, sunny. There was only one time rain about 30 min. The location is perfect, walking distance to George Town shopping centers, many restaurants. Nice pool area. Narrow access to the beach (contraction next to the hotel) is not affecting the whole impression of the beach and water activities. I recommend this hotel for couples and families though it is not luxury at all.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Do not rent a car. It is too expensive and left-side traffic makes it too difficult. There is public transportation (mini-van like buses, 2 CI $ per person). They are running to virtually any parts of the island about every 20 min. We used them often.

Family’s First Real Vacation in Ages

Very family friendly. Loved the beach, room, & staff at Comfort Suites. Hotel & room clean, staff friendly & very helpful. Loved the 2BR Suite. Breakfast nice, would be better if added more items. Attached restaurant cozy & reasonable. Location PERFECT. Offers from hotel were helpful.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

Awesome attractions everywhere. Look for coupons & pay attention to receipts at restaurants, tips often already on bill. Ask about buses, much less than taxis. If @ grocery mart look for T’s & such to save $$. A must see is Stingray City-worth it! AWESOME.

Doable but probably wouldn’t stay again

Decent enough place - the rooms were clean and cleaned well every day, when assistance was requested the staff was friendly and helpful. I was a little surprised that there was no one to help with my bags when I arrived and departed. Don’t count on using the one computer they have for internet access - it is never available regardless of the time of day and there is no privacy when you are able to get on it. Breakfast was pretty good. I did not use the pool or beach access since it rained the entire time I was there so I can’t speak to that at all. They offer towels for the pool but not for the beach - which I thought was interesting.

great location, helpful people

what impressed me was that the air conditioner wasn’t working quite right, I mentioned it one morning on the way out. When I returned to the room later that day, a new unit had been installed, no muss, no fuss.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

cabs are expensive. this hotel is close enough to attractions, restaurants etc. that walking is a real option

good time enjoyed it

not on the beach but we knew to rent a van to go to other parts of the island so it did not matter but at night it was a very short walk to the beach, exactly what we expected anice place to sleep and a good continental breakfast for us and the kids

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

just rent a car, snorkel for free right off eden rock (see everything there that you would from a trip)

Would go back

Hotel staff was generally quite helpful and friendly, pool was clean, 7 mile beach was lovely as ever and while it was a no frills hotel, we would definitely consider staying again.

Traveler's tip on dining

Stinger’s restaurant was quite good.

Love Grand Cayman. Very pricey, but usually worth it.Great restraunts, wonderful diving. Comfort suites has seen better days. Rooms small, worn out. Would be great for college student on spring break if they can afford it.

Had a great time!

If you are seeking a view of the ocean this is not the hotel. The continental breakfast was good. The room was pretty big we brought our daughter and she slept in the sofa bed. This hotel is great for families. You have a small kitchen area with sink and fridge.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Georgetown is the closest shopping center where all tourist go and cruise ships. Very expensive tho I felt safe. If you love jewelry you will be in heaven in Georgetown. They have loads of jewelry stores and you must stop by the souvenir shop that has sand on the ground.

Okay if you are on a serious budget.

The location of this hotel is not bad. As noted in other reviews, there is construction between the beach and the property but it really did not affect my stay. The rooms are smaller than I anticipated (1 bedroom suite) and there was a bad smell in the room for the first few days (sour spoiled smell). The furniture in the living room (love seat and wheeled office chairs) was stained as well as the carpet. The common areas, including the reception area, pool and bar, were clean and neat. The employees did not go out of their way to be polite, but were not rude. There was a large spill (plate of food), that was noticed throughout the stairway that remained for 2 days despite asking the front desk to clean it up. I would recommend this place to stay if you want to save a lot of money because you definately get what you pay for.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

To save money, my guest and I stopped by the grocery store and picked up lunch and dinner supplies. We packed a lunch and headed down to a beach access area in the middle of Seven Mile Beach (lots of access points with adequate parking). When we left the beach, we stopped by the docks and picked up fresh local fish. We cooked it at the suite and and ate on the outdoor patio area behind the reception area.

Nice hotel for the price

The hotel staff was very helpful and informative. The room was well cleaned every day with fresh towels.Breakfast is generous. The hotel beach is very narrow and construction is blocking the ocean view. The bar is filled with same local people every day but has good food.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Rent a car to drive around.Pick up the coupon book which saves you a cocktail or an appetizer. Take a boat trip to snorkel.

Nice for the price

this hotel offers the basics for a good vacation. If you are looking for a resort setting this is not for you. Basic rooms at a really reasonable price for the Cayman Islands

Don’t pay for the airport transfer. Rent a car. It is cheaper in the long run. A family of 5 will pay 125 for transfer to hotel/aiport and you can rent a car for 225 for the whole week

Great deal if you like the busy Seven Mile Beach

Clean, Great service. The only down side was that the sleeper sofa had a broken middle leg. Albet, we were tiren and only there one night and did not say anything.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Visit the Glass Maker on the west end of downtown Gerogetown. Great deals and wonderful conversation
