Acceptable for a quick stop

The location, next to the major railway station, not in the red light district, is the major positive feature. For a quick overnight stop in Frankfurt to catch a couple of museums and a business appointment it was very convenient and quiet. The staff were efficient and unfriendly in a way that I wouldn’t like to succumb to national stereotypes to describe, but you know what I mean. The free TV offerings were dreary - take a book. The decor was a step up from ’70s East Berlin, while not reaching ’Wallpaper’ magazine retro chic. The cost was high for such modest offerings, but it is an expensive city. Definitely a one-nighter.

Traveler's tip on dining

Lots of moderately priced Turkish and Indian restaurants nearby if you head out from the other side of the station towards the city centre.

Great location

You can’t beat the location of the InterCityHotel Frankfurt: 1 minute walk from the railway station which gives access to subways, too. The hotel and the rooms are clean. It is not luxury, but a well designed and well run hotel, with comfortable rooms. The exercise room was small and a bit uninviting. But I would stay there again.

Not much going for this one

I stayed here and wish I had stayed elsewhere. Yes it was close to the Bahnhof and breakfast was ok, but small would not be an adequate description for rooms. Sparse would not be an adequate description for supplies. Polite would not be the best word for the staff and clean, not in the halls. Efficiency at check-in also missing. I suggest finding someplace else.

Hotel was just right

The hotel is located across the street from the main train station, the Hauptbanhof(?). Easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. Very clean, but small by US standards. Would definitely recommend. One of the few hotels with A/C and good price.

Unmatched convenience

The hotel’s location immediately next to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof can’t be beat. It’s also a short walk to the Messe and to the center of town and river. The price was also excellent. The hotel inside, though, leaves a bit to be desired. The beds are extremely firm and the rooms in general motel-like. But again that kind of went with the price. Slept late one day and the room didn’t get cleaned. Picked it over others based on reviews but might spring for a bit more comfort next time.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

When the sun is shining, sip a beer on the grass by the Main River. Europaturm offers the best view of the city. Frankfurt is very international, so try out the many ethnic restaurants.

hotel well located

I have stayed twice at this hotel. It is reasonably priced and located next door to the Frankfurt main train station. However, the staff seems to be busy and not forthcoming with information. For example, I found out by accident that I could get a bus pass for free, for every day I stayed at the hotel. That’s a savings of at least 6 Euros per day.

ok hotel, but overpriced

This hotel was well located across from the train station, which was great since just breakfast alone at the hotel was approximately $20.00 each. The train station had good, inexpensive food (and great airport access). It was an average hotel, we had no problems, but we hesitate to recommend it because it was outrageously pricey for an average hotel. We booked it due to lack of vacancies in other hotels in the area. Perhaps they are all that expensive. But a better mattress, better pillows, and a bottle of shampoo or two would have been appreciated for the cost.

Traveler's tip

This is a great walking city, day and night. No matter which way you walk from the station you will witness the wonderful combination of old and new which is Frankfurt. And spend some time hanging out in the station. It’s an adventure in itself.

Great location and value

This hotel is situated just adjacent to the Hauptbahnhof which makes it ideal for short stays as well as longer trips as a base for exploring further afield. The Hbf is a great place for grabbing bread and fruit to stash in the minibar fridge for late-night snacking. The breakfast at 14 Euros was reasonable since it includes hot foods such as eggs, sausage, bacon, etc and also yogurt, granola, all types of breads and cheese and juices. We found it more than adequate for a good start. The service was wonderful. We were fortunate to work with a front-desk clerk who helped us book a spa appointment and answered our multitude of questions about transport, which is free in the city since the hotel is owned by Deutsche Bahn. The waiter in the restaurant was wonderful too. Nice sense of humor which is refreshing to a foreigner. The only real disappointment was the internet connection in the room--the wireless connection simply didn’t work there. It’s free, though, in the lobby so you can go down there. I was able to access a t-mobile hotspot for 29 Euros for 30 days, which is good if you’re here for 3 days or more. Said connection also works at the airport which is handy for when you leave.

Traveler's tip on recreational activities

The Villa Kennedy spa is top-notch. It’s a 20 minute walk or a quick tram ride from the Hbf. The sauna, pool and jacuzzi are included with all the treatments and the staff are wonderful. Look it up on the internet--it’s located on Kennedy-alee just across the river from the station.

good for a short stay

I stayed here just for a night. The single bedroom was quite tiny..but I guess for one night , I was able to manage. The hotel staff was friendly. They have a luggage room, in case you arrive early. The front desk staff speaks English and also got me onto a Frankfurt city tour at a very short notice. The best part of the hotel is that it is very close to the Main Frankurt train station. Only dissapointment I had was that they messed up with my morning wake up call. I never got a wake uo call from the hotel and had to get to the airport in a real hurry.. But overall this is a decent place to stay for a night or two at the most.,..

Traveler's tip on nightlife

when your at Frankfurt looking for a decent nightspot.. visit this club called King KaMeha Meha ! Its awesome.. You can take a cab from the hotel for about 13 euros..or also take the train..( cant remember the name of the station though! sorry)

Nice hotel next to train station

Desk staff were pleasant, and rooms were quiet. Ideal for layover - in town rather than next to airport, but 2 minutes walk to train station. WiFi only works in or near lobby, but that is not uncommon.

Second time not the charm

I stayed at this InterCity earlier in the year, and had a nice, spacious room (for Europe) at a reasonable price. This time around, I received a good rate, but the room assigned to me was more of the disappointing, minimal type than before. It was a bit of a letdown, but then again I didn’t spend a lot of time in the hotel. The sauna is always good.

ok lodging

at time of booking we thought we’d have free breakfast, but the hotel wanted 13 euros per person for breakfast. Steps from the train station.

awsome!

The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom facilities were nice. The staff was very helpful and always willing to help. The location was great, since it was near the train station, I could catch up with my late night train. They also had a free luggage storage which it was kept in a safe room, which I could trust.

Great place to stay

This hotel is right out the left hand door of the train station. The front desk was very helpful, and friendly. It was nice to be able to drop our bags and go on our short Frankfurt visit. We would recommend this hotel, especially if you have a short visit to Frankfurt.

Great service, value and location

If you need a handy hotel in Frankfurt, this is it. Left of the main train station, and blocks away from everything, its very convenient. Staff is very helpful and eager. Can’t go wrong, and the rate is true value.

Comfortable, Clean, and Convenient

This hotel is located conveniently directly across the street from the train station, with easy access to the U Bahn, S Bahn, Trams, and Long distance and Regional trains. It’s a perfect place to stay if you’re planning on taking some short train trips to nearby Wiesbaden, Kronberg, or if you’re just staying in town. The hotel itself is amazing for the price. The check in process is quite easy, the staff speaks English, and the hotel lobby has a bar and a restaurant. The room had a queen bed, a television with a decent selection of channels, air conditioning, and a mini bar. The restroom was quite european, and by that I mean that it was very small. Despite the size of the restroom, it was very clean and modern. Also, there is free wireless internet, although it was difficult to connect in the room, it was easy and fast when connecting in the lobby on the floor. I would recommend that anyone interested in a bargain hotel with an amazing location check this place out, and give it a chance.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you’re looking to save a few dollars, pick up your lunch or breakfast at one of the many sandwich shops located in the train station.

convenient location

the hotel’s convenient location made me spend a night there. I was 7 hours early for check-in, i.e. 7:00 a.m., check-in starts at 2:00 p.m. and the staff - upon request, gave me a different room, which allowed me to take an overdue nap before hitting the streets. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Extremely Convenient

I was apprehensive about a European 3 star, but we booked anyway since we had been to Frankfurt and walked by the hotel before. We were pleasantly surprised!!! The InterCity Hotel Frankfurt was great. It is right across the street from the city’s main train station so you can be anywhere in the city in minutes. The hotel was well cared for, clean and the non-smoking floor was completly free of any smoke smell. The comfort of the room was in line with all European hotels I have stayed in. We really liked the mini bar in the room stocked with soda and the free public transportation. Employees were knowledgeable and spoke English fluently. You will want to bring your own facecloth and shower amenities, unless you only require the bare essentials which are provided.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you take the train to the hotel just buy a day pass or a one trip ticket. (The information desk at the Airport train station will be helpful with this) The InterCity includes a pass for all the city buses, streetcars, and local trains.

Very Convenient

The hotel is directly across from the main train station which has easy and direct connections to the airport. The hotel is also a quick walk to the center of the city. We found the staff to be very friendly, to the point they even remembered my name.

Railway station stopover

Convenient and efficient hotel particularly when transiting through Frankfurt railway station. Rooms were basic with spartan fittings. Not the kind of place to stay in small room for any lenght of time.
