Great hotel
My husband and I stayed at the Montague twice, the first time for 4 nights, and then again a week later for 2 nights. The first two nights it was an ordinary, if well-appointed hotel room. The second two nights we were upgraded to a more spacious suite. The second stay our suite was upgraded to a better, even more spacious suite and spacious isnt a term I use lightly in London. The food in both the restaurants was outstanding and the bar was welcoming as well. We had a vacation to remember in large part thanks to the Montague.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
The Heathrow Express is a pricey ride with multiple changes of trains depending on your terminal and hotel location, but you can negotiate a trip into town with a taxi for about 40-45BP (more expensive but loads less trouble.) Also, if youre in London for any length of time, spring for an Oyster Card to ride the underground and bus.

Just wonderful and service was beyond expectations!
The hotel was fantastic and the service was GREAT. I was in room 101 and loved the decor and felt very at home. Quiet and at the end of the hall. Not much of view of the garden but the room was so nice I didnt care. Loved the terrace bar and ate dinner there every night. Service was great and I felt looked after from start to finish. Central location and walked everywhere. Thank you Montague on the Gardens for making my trip to London extra special!

Impressive, Quiet and Pleasant
This hotel is across the street from the British Museum and a block from the Tube. As an American visiting London for the first time I was very pleased by the experience that this hotel provided. Service was good, meals were excellent and the garden was beautiful. Other than the British Museum this hotel is not really walking distance to attractions, but we found the central location good to go in any direction via cab or tube. We will be returning for another visit!

convenient and comfortable
Hotel is very conveniently located. Its at the back street of British Museum. Not far from Piccadilly circus and China town wither. Its about 3~5 minutes walk from tube station as well. Hotel room is quite small but very clean and cozy. Staff is very friendly. Only thing we noticed is, although its on a less busy street, it could be a little bit noisy with cars passing by during the night.

Not overly impressed
The hotel is conveniently located between two tube stops, but I was disappointed in my room for the price. The tub shower has one of those half glass walls rather than a shower curtain, so water inevitably got everywhere. We had an outside room on the top floor, but it was very noisy since the hotel is apparently located on a cut-through street that many taxis and local drivers use. There are so many hotel options in London, so even though I liked the location Ill be trying another hotel for my next business trip.

Boutique at its best
The Montague On The Garden hotel across from the British Museum was one the nicest hotels I have had the privilege to stay in quite a while. It was quaint, a touch of Old England yet modern with all the amenities of a 5 star hotel. I really appreciated the attention to detail in not only the public rooms but our personal room as well. Also the concierge gave us a great recommendation for fish and chips...the best I have eaten. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in London for a short or extended stay. I only wish I had more time there.
Make sure your bank ATM card works in getting dollars to sterling. My card worked in Paris but for some strange reason not in England. It was quite a problem. I would check with your financial institution prior to travel.

High Quality and a Great Location!
We chose this hotel largely based on the Expedia recommendations and were not disappointed! It is lovely and has a very British feel to it. The locattion was splendid...right next door to the British Museum and about 2 blocks from the Russell Street tube. The room was very comfortable and while small (by U.S. standards, not by European standards) even had a little sitting area. The staff was extremely courteous, helpful and friendly and always used our names which I found amazing...even the porters! We would definitely go back to The Montague on the Gardens on our next trip to London.

Ideal Location In Bloomsbury
The Montague is a high quality, low key, full service hotel. the staff is very attentive. facilities are well maintained. The public areas are cozy and there is live music in the bar a few nights per week. Only complaint was that the room was a liitle tight on space.

A gem of a hotel
Great hotel - great local by the British Museum. Excellent service and very accomodating staff. The room was a bit small by American Standards, but perfectly comfortable. The bath was good size. Id definately go back & recommend it.
Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks
Have coffee in the room & find a place for a lite breakfest out.

Wonderful!
The Montague Hotel was exactly what we were looking for...very warm and friendly atmosphere and staff....classy, but not stuffy. It felt like "home" after long days of sight-seeing and shopping. Christmas lunch was exceptional! Well definitely return.
