Good location & good price

The hotel is very close to Euro Star train station and bus stops. Price is reasonable and don’t expect too much. Room is ok. There were minor problems such as water leaking from the shower and very poor satellite tv reception. Breakfast was included and ok except that the cold meat was nowhere to find.

Good and affordable place to stay in Lodon

1. Just 3 mins walk to Kings Cross station, very convenient mass transportation and good location. 2. Good continental breakfast. 3. Bethroom is just redecorated, new. 4. The room(twins) is a little bit small, but is ok for two people with two luggages.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

If you arrive London in the morning, you can keep your luggages in the hotel desk and go city tour first, and then come back to check-in later. There is a place in King Cross station to keep luggages for traveler, L8 per time. Just save this L8 pounds for a lunch.

Clean hotel; good value

Nice and quiet hotel in a central location (2 minutes from the tube) for a good price. Don’t expect too much and you won’t be disapointed.

Rooms were small but clean. Able to fill up at continental breakfast before full day of sightseeing. Staff was helpful. Location convenient near Kings Cross station.

Don’t Believe the Hype! It’s a 2 star hotel (at best)

This hotel is portrayed in the write-up as a comfort class hotel for business traveler’s. This is not an accurate picture of the hotel. The original room we were given was the size of a closet. There was not even space for 2 people and our luggage. We were on the 1st floor and people were outside on the steps drinking beer until 3am. (We saw the empty beer bottles the next morning) After complaining about the noise and size of the room, they moved us into a slightly bigger room on the 3rd floor. This room was not much better. The water in the shower would dry up to a trickle while you were showering. The internet service was costly and there were no reall amenities in the room. The TV had 3 channels that worked- the rest froze up in the middle of watching or were completly distorted. You could not drink the water, but no bottled water was given. The only good part of this hotel was the friendly kitchen and cleaning staff. Otherwise this hotel was a complete waste of money.

Nothing like a Comfort Inn in the USA

My wife and I have traveled the USA extensively by car, and out first choice of a place to stay is Comfort inn for their comfort, cleanliness, and quiet. This hotel was nothing like that. Noisy, you couldn’t drink the water in the room (why was no bottled water provided?), burn marks in the carpet, worn out bed, and a shower door that was hinged so the door went inside the shower stall-- I could barely (!!) squeeze in. We were woken twice by the order of burning toast, and one of those times the fire alarm was set off. Choice Hotels. I believe, should be more protective of their brand name, and name this property something else.

Conveniently located

This hotel is very close to two major train stations. It is very small, and not in a very nice area, but it serves its purpose as a place to crash after a full day of sight-seeing. The staff, especially in the breakfast room, is very nice.

Excellent Hotel

The front desk staff was very courteous, helpful and made us feel very welcomed. The hotel was very clean and located in a nice quiet street. My room was great, linens were fresh, towels were fresh, good working T.V. (flat screen). I had a little coffee maker in the rooom along with cookies (supplied on a daily basis)! I would definitely recommend this place and hopefully on my next visit to London I would be paying them another visit.

Traveler's tip on shopping

Seems like all the stores close at 5:30 (no fun). Better get your shopping done during the day.

The thrill is gone

After a previous quite positive experience, I was badly disappointed by our stay. We were given a small, uncomfortable room which proved to be dismally unsatisfactory, even by London b & b standards. We had the misfortune of being in London during an uncharacteristic May warm spell, and we had only a tiny, viewless window to open during the muggy nights. The staff was unsympathetic and at best diffident. This was a huge disappointment and I can no longer recommend this hotel.

Traveler's tip on getting the most out of your stay

This hotel still has a great location (two minutes from Kings Cross station and five mninutes from the British Library) in a neighborhood that is now safe and semi-funky. But this hotel needs to learn to be more accommodating to its clients, especially repeat customers who had expected better treatment.

Great for the price

If you need a relatively cheap place to stay near King’s Cross/St Pancras tube/rail stations then this place works nicely. It’s off Euston Road in a nice neighborhood so it’s quiet and there are some useful shops/pubs/restaurants all very close.

Ok but will explore other options next time

This hotel’s main quality is to be within walking distance of StPancras train station, home of the Eurostar. It takes literally 5 mn to walk between hotel and station. There are many convenience stores and restaurants nearby, as well as the tube station on the Circle Line. The rooms are very small, the showers are minuscule, the hallways tiny. I would not recommend it to anyone who has difficulties walking or people with large luggage, as you need to go up and down many stairs to get to some of the rooms.

Needs a redo

This is one of the worse hotels I have ever stayed in...how did it ever get 4 stars? The only good feature was the staff was pleasent and helpful. The two rooms we had were small and smelly, the bed was uncomfortable, the t.v. was small, and the next day both my daughter and I were itchy. I would not stay there again.

It’s close to the train station...

Small, but convenient

Coming from America, I’m used to one-person rooms being large enough to fit a small family. This wan’t the case for this hotel, but all I really needed was a place to sleep at night. It is a cozy hotel that gets the job done.

clean and great price for location!

the location is great, only a 3min walk to kings cross/eurostar. small, but normal for euro standards. very, very, very clean. a little noisey, but after all the touring of the city it didn’t matter because i went right to sleep. very nice staff that were very helpful with all questions. can’t wait to go back and stay there again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

the tube is not as hard as it seems. once you learn it, you can go anywhere very cheap! believe me being from a small town that would never even need a subway system, it didn’t take long to figure out the tube and/or trains.

Lilliputian room in Kings Cross

Tiny room. Tiny room. Tiny room. Did I mention the tiny room?

Traveler's tip for business travelers

This hotel is very close to Kings Cross / St. Pancras train stations - its only redeeming quality.

Good location

We found the location to be almost the best part of this hotel. Also the rooms were clean though tiny and the breakfast was adequate. The service was very helpful and the fact that the hotel was situated near King’s Cross station saved our trip!

Great location, service and value

This was much more of a hotel then we expected. The staff was wonderful, always helpful and knowledgeable. The location was ideal. There is an internet cafe around the corner. It is a few hundred yards from King’s Cross. The rooms were clean and well kept. The breakfast was more than satisfactory.

Great location

The location of this hotel is great because it is 2 blocks from the Kings Cross tube station. Otherwise, this is a no frills place to sleep. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Don’t expect a big room or lots of extras.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

The agency that sells the double decker bus tour has great rates on everything! Check them out for discounts on the EUROstar to Paris, Theatre tickets and discounts into tourist attractions.

Not a Good Deal

Really bad deal, the room was really dirty, the linen had foot steps marks and even when we asked to be changed they just refused to do it. Also, we were in the 3rd floor, but the elevator just didn’t work for the 5 days that we’ve been there, we had to take our bags up the stairs. To finish, we woke up every morning aroung 6 o’clock couse everytime that someone in some other room turn on their shower, there was a HUGE noise in our appartment. The only good thing is the location, still, lot’s of bars and -single women- walking around the street by the hotel.

Fine

For the price, the hotel was what I was looking for. It was clean, though small and compared to the rest of the hotel selection in London, it was affordable and in a convenient location so it was fine. No doubt a 2 star hotel but it was still satisfactory.

Affordable, clean, and close to main train and subway station

This hotel is great if you are looking for something affordable yet still a comfortable place to stay. The hotel doesn’t offer much, but that’s exactly what I wanted because I knew I’d be spending the majority of my time exploring the city (why pay for amenities I won’t use?). That said, the staff was *very* friendly, the room was clean, the bed was reasonably comfortable, and there were no hot-water issues which annoys me often with other hotels. It’s a simple, no frills, place to rest your head when you are done for the day - exactly as advertised. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend to others looking for similar accomodations. Another plus: it’s *right* next to the King’s Cross train and underground station which is a major hub that makes it *really* easy to get to any place you need to get to in London.

Traveler's tip on nightlife

King’s Cross is not an area I’d generally recommend for night life, but if you insist on staying close to the hotel, the Big Chill House just down the road is a cool lounge that plays great music.

A Good Base

The simplicity of this hotel is best enjoyed as a place to sleep after a day of sightseeing or other activities. My single room was very small, but perfect for my needs since I was up and out early and back late every day. The neighborhood, although a bit run-down in spots, is always busy. King’s Cross Train Station is but a few minutes away, providing excellent access to other parts of the city. The British Library and Museum are within walking distance of the hotel, as is eclectic Bloomsbury. The hotel’s continental breakfast offered a nice selection, and there are numerous small restaurants, fast food places, and pubs on Euston (the main street around the corner) for variety. Traffic is hectic, with sirens going off throughout the day and night, so it’s not always the quietest place to be. It is also not a tourist shop sort of area, so if you are planning to make any purchases you would do better in other locations; e.g., Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, etc. This is a workingclass neighborhood. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly, and I always came back to an exceptionally clean room. In all, this hotel perfectly suited my itinerary, and I would stay there again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

There are many places to exchange money in the area, but compare their posted rates first. During my stay there was a difference of almost 5 pounds between them. Also, if you’re planning on a full day’s worth of travel, purchase a 1-Day Pass at the train station, which gives you unlimited usage between buses and trains within established "Zones" (they have maps to help you). Given the traffic congestion throughout London, taking a cab should be a last resort for longer distances.

Bad even for a London dive

I am used to small rooms and poor service in London, but this hotel takes the cake. Dingy, below ground room, rude front desk clerk, horrible "continental" breakfast, smells, noises, uncomfortable bed - there is nothing to say that would recommend this hotel for any purpose.
