Spotty Service

I’ve stayed here a previous time without any issues, but during my most recent visit I was disappointed with the service. I stayed for two nights and housekeeping never cleaned my room even though I purposely left it unoccupied during many parts of the day to make sure they would get to it. By the time I realized they hadn’t cleaned it, it was evening and it was too late to bother. Also, they do offer an adequate continental breakfast but were not good at keeping it supplied. When I went to breakfast at 8 AM there were no bagels or any breads left....when I returned later for a coffee refill, they had replenished the supply, but I was done with breakfast and had to leave by that point.

Location location location!

Whether you’re heading upstate to visit Cornell or Ithaca College, it’s an excellent stay. Grab breakfast at Ithaca Bakery (they have it all) and visit the Farmers’ market for some great fruits and vegetables. Then you’re right there to get going on the Cayuga or Seneca Wine trails. There is also Buttermilk Falls and other natural wonders right in the vicinity.

Perfect for my needs

I needed a room for one night to catch my daughter’s soccer game. I thought the prices of other area hotels were ridiculously high. I read the reviews of this hotel and it actually ranked higher than the higher priced ones. I was not disappointed, very comfy, clean and quiet. Breakfast in the am and next door to Wegmans. I highly recommend Super 8 for anyone.

Low Budget but Good

If you need a comfortable, safe place to stay near downtown and shopping that doesn’t have any frills at all, this would be a good hotel.

Basic hotel

The hotel was very basic, no frills, but clean and servicable. 1st floor room was a little noisy (near the road) and lacked sheers or blinds so we felt exposed if we didn’t keep the drapes drawn making for a very dark room in the afternoon. Basic breakfast offerings, again nothing special but certainly adequate. My daughter appreciated the wireless internet and it was very close to Ithaca College which made our college visit quite easy.

Nice hotel but a few irritations

I really thought the desk worker was very nice and tried his best to be helpful. Problem was we were supposed to have a nonsmoking room and did not receive it. The air smelled horrible and made our clothes smell. We had to open the window to try and get fresh air. Also, they never gave us our wakeup call and we almost missed our meeting.

Excellent for its grade

Definitely worth the money. Although graded a 2-star, but has almost everything that’s for a 3-star and better than some of the 3-star hotels I’ve stayed before. Internet is high speed. Breakfast is simple but has what I like.

A comfortable and basic hotel room

The room provides the basics. That is expected of a Super 8 Motel. It is surprising that the high speed internet is free while other hotel chains charge $10/day fee. There is also a refrigerator in the room which is very "cool". The breakfast is simple with Danish, bagel and coffee. That is good enough for me to start my day.

Downtown Ithaca Commons are filled with many good restaurants. The Thai and the Tappas place are pretty good for a small town.

Seemed to be a shortage of nearby restaurants if you didn’t want southwestern, chinese or fast food.

Good place to stay at reasonable price for visit to Ithaca College

Very close to Ithaca College. Well kept property and friendly employees. Staff was always helpful. Comp. breakfast left a lot to be desired !! Hallways were a bit musty smelling.

Make sure to dine at "Joe’s" on Buffalo Street !! Great home-style Italian.

It’s a pleasure to stay there.

Satisfactory stay

d location to downtown.The room looked clean but was musty smelling so we had to keep the window open; we could hear a lot of trucks going by. The motel seems a little run down. Staff didn’t know how to process online reservations, but were pleasant.

Nice and Clean

Not a plush hotel but clean and convenient to Cornell University. Prices were fair. Would definitely stay there on a return trip.

Nice motel, reasonable price

This was my second stay at the Super 8 Motel in Ithaca, and I plan to stay there again while my son is a student at Ithaca College. The motel is small, but very clean and well kept. The staff are courteous and friendly. The motel is at a very busy intersection, but I was not bothered by street noise at all. The beds are comfortable, and the wake up call was right on the minute. I do recommend this motel to anyone on a budget who desires a clean, inexpensive place to stay.
