My recent stay at the Hotel Carlisle in Carlisle, Pa turned out to be a pleasureable experience. When teh place i usually stayed closed I looked around at nearby hotels-motels. I gave the Hotel Carlisle a try and fond the rooms to be large and comfortable. The Wi-Fi access was speedy, and free. The bathroom was large, well lit and clean. The price of the room through Expedia was very affordable. Making my business stay more affordable as well. The place is in need of some TLC but otherwise, a very comfortable place to stay. Additionally I found the front desk staff to be very friendly and hospitable people.

gave out key to our room and they tried to enter at 2:00AM IN THE MORING.MAID banged on door even though we had sign out do not disturb.just a badweekend for us

A good value for our money.

If you’re looking for a clean, quiet room, a comfortable bed, and close proximity to Carlisle, this is a great bargain. Don’t look too close at the carpentry, or many of the items in need of repair, and you’ll be very happy.

Very very clean, but...

This hotel is really clean, including surroundings, pool area, etc. However, it needs a renovation badly. The sheets in my room had cigarate burn holes and stains. Those freaked the heck out of me. In addition bed sheets in one of the beds had that cigarate smell. I guess they don’t separate bed sheets for smoking and non smoking room. I am telling you the sheets were disgusting. The matresses were very old as well, I was affraid to touch them. The tub drain plug would not stay open completely and I had to use a piece of plastic to keep it open so the tub wouldn’t fill. If you are in an extreme tight budget, this could be an option for you. If you can afford a bit more, you won’t regret going somewhere else. Also note that this is an extreme truck traffic area. If I ever hear they renovated the rooms I would consider it again because it was very clean. But I rather pay a bit more. My daughter did enjoy the pool and it seemed to be well maintained.

Good place to stay in Carlisle

I only had one night there, but everything was quite good. The hotel is not over-luxurious, but still is a good place. Their staff, particularly those in the breakfast cafe, are very nice and willing to help. I would stay there again.

Comfortable beds, rooms could use some updating

The beds were comfortable. Room could have used some updating though, old and out of date and not enough light in the room. Nice having a fridge and microwave in the room. Overall it was a good room for the price. Staff was pleasant also. The indoor pool area and pool looked nice; we were just not able to make use of it.

A very nice place

The hotel was clean and staff very pleasant. My only complaint is there is a business center with free internet, but they were having alot of difficulty keeping the connection. The rooms were spacious and in good condition.

Good Value

The hotel was bigger than I thought. Outlying buildings gave lots of room options. The Room was worn but in good repair. The queen beds lacked support in the middle. Some rust in the shower and minor repairs to the walls were needed. Other than that this was a good value. I will stay here again.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Across the street is a truck stop. Easy in and out. I found the gas prices well below what I was paying in Virginia. The restaurant here has a scrumptious breakfast buffet at a low price.

Very nice and clean

The room and bathroom were clean, the beds were good. We had breakfast at the hotel and it was good and the service was quick and friendly. No complaints at all!

Half way point

I choice this hotel for the convenience of on and off the hwy on the way to NY and because they excepted animals. There are good things to say and bad things to say about this place. The good things are the actual facility is huge..like a campus. Lots of place to walk the dogs. The restaurant was good, a little slow but good. The staff was friendly. If you had children, they could be entertained easily with the indoor pool and the game room. Also, the room, although old, was clean. The bad things are that the bed was short sheeted, the buildings were in desperate need of repair and updating, and the noise level was very high. It didn’t help that we stopped in Carlisle when there was an enormous Bike Show. That is not the hotels fault but when a biker is screaming his bike through the parking lot from 1 a.m. to around 4 a.m., someone should have been out there to stop them. If we had to stay there any longer, we probably would have found another place but since we were only stopping by overnight, it worked out fine for the price.

Great service and had a blast. Wonderful pool and the lounge was awesome.

You get what you pay for

Its an affordable basic hotel. It was reasonably clean but the carpet felt a little damp and the air conditioning control was stuck on full blast cold.

Great Place

Quick decision to stay here because we had changed our trip somewhat. Little worried because the price was so good. Ended up being such a good option that we went back the next nite because we decided to stay in the area. Excellent rooms, ice cold air, beds were comfortable and the pool was great. Pool stayed open late just to accomodate us because we got in late. The grounds was laid out more like a resort then a hotel with several buildings all over the property. Only thing that was kind of strange. We booked a 2 queen bed room - 4 people both nights and both times only 3 towels, wierd huh?!? No prob though because next morning, house keeping was always in the hall. Nice Place!!

Great place to stay!

Love the hotel. Lots to offer..indoor pool, restaurant, video game / air hockey room, billiards, fitness center/sauna/whirlpool, laundry, nice layout, internet connection, adequately equipped rooms, everything! All they need to top it off is free continental breakfast :o)

The rooms were large and clean. The hotel may be a little past its peak but was fine for a quick overnight stay.
