Spend a couple more dollars elsewhere
We stayed there for 2 nights at the close of our trip. The area was a little iffy, but seemed okay. We were put in a semi-basement room, which was kind of weird, but no big deal. The air conditioner was extremely loud, and I was scared to open the window, with our room being partially underground and easily accessible by passer-bys. The real problem was the second night. When we came in for the night, we passed the lobby and they were repairing a chainsaw right there on the lobby desk. The whole hotel, including our room, smelled of some sort of cleaner or lubricant for the chainsaw. It was so strong, I got sick. I base alot of my bookings on customer feedback, and thought I should pass on this little bit of info. I would not go back to this hotel, and would spend more money on a nicer place next time.

Not that impressed
The price was ok afor a three-day, two-night stay. The room was clean until the day we were leaving and we found 3 peices of glass on the floor. The television did not work, the sound came on, but there was not a picture or a remote and could not change the channel by way of the tv. At least there were towels and bathcloths in the bathroom, not like a motel we stayed at in Florida. The service was great, when we first checked in we left to go get something to eat and the door would not lock. We reported this and our room was changed immediately to the one with the broken tv. All in all I guess it was ok for the price. Next time I will stay with family that is in the area.
Traveler's tip for business travelers
Make sure you bring slippers or houseshoes to walk in the room with. Do not go barefooted.

Great Budget Hotel Close to the Airport
We visit Richmond, VA twice a year for business and this is a great hotel for this purpose if you are looking to save $$$. I’m not sure if they have been renovated recently but the room was surprisingly clean and in good working order. Free high speed internet was available. Don’t expect everything that you would find at a mid to upper-level hotel that you would pay more for.
Traveler's tip on dining
Great Mexican restaurant within walking distance apropriately named "Mexico". We’ve had dinner there at least 2 dozen times and is great if you like authentic Mexican food.
